My AP Top 25 ballot: The case for Villanova at No. 1. Does Seton Hall finally break through? http://on.app.com/1T8eWJm via @AsburyParkPress
This is probably true, especially in this, a year that lacks a clearly dominant team.I know it is all about match-ups, but if Nova is #1 in country, we now know that if we play well, we can beat just about anyone in the country.
Coaches poll:A team should have the ability to go into any arena in the country and compete before they are highly ranked. So that's my top 10 I'd say.
The next 15 would have the ability to play with any team at home, but can't beat the best teams or compete on a regular basis on the road.
Seton Hall is probably in that 25-35 range I'd say at this point. That's a school that is in the NCAA Tournament with a decent seed. It will be interesting to see where The Hall goes from here.
Looks like a rule since they don't have SMU in there either.Hall at #31 seems reasonable. How did Notre Dame not crack the top 25 after the UNC win, geesh. I love the fact the Coaches dropped LVille from the rankings. Is that a statement, or is it in the rules that a team not eligible for post season can't be in their rankings?
Must just be the Coaches Poll then as SMU was still ranked in the AP last week.Looks like a rule since they don't have SMU in there either.
Don't feel snubbed. The voters make kneejerk decisions that make no sense. How is Wichita St above us?I don't get how SHU did not crack top 25 with their kenpom ( 30) and BE and overall record and 4 game win streak when you consider providence still in at 17 with a worse BE record, kenpom of 50 and dropped 2 straight games this past week. So I feel kind of snubbed.
We still don't have that exceptional win. SHU has solid wins and their
overall play is on an upswing. The Nova game was the chance for the marquee win until we get Xavier at home in a couple of weeks.
I'd rather we keep winning ranked in the 30's than to be ranked #24 and have the team distracted. You could make the argument that the SHU Women's team checked out after they got ranked and beat DePaul on the road. That NCAA bid is the prize we're after.

It's also about match ups... There are teams that are ranked 50-100 that could give us trouble ad there are teams in the top 10 we could beat. Nothing is based on where teams are ranked.
