NEW YORK, N.Y. – After another strong week of two-way play, Kelsey Carr earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the conference announced on Monday.
Carr was a dominant presence in the batter's box and the circle this past week. The graduate student two-way player hit .636/.714/1.273 with four runs, two home runs and seven RBI in 4 games. In three of the four games, Carr had multiple RBI, with the lone exception begin the Pirates second game against Georgetown. She also launched two home runs, both of which occurred in games she started, against Rutgers and Georgetown. The graduate student also pitched 12.2 innings, finishing the week with a 2-0 record, one save, eight strikeouts and a 3.55 ERA. Among the graduate student's four appearances, her complete game, five-strikeout win over Georgetown headlined her efforts in the circle.
Heading into the week, Carr sits second in the BIG EAST in on-base percentage (.515) and wins (7), sixth in RBI (18), first in walks (18) and tied for first in home runs (6).
The Pirates return to action on Wednesday, March 12, when they travel to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to take on Penn at 2 p.m.
