SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. – Sophomore Savannah Catalon (Mansfield, Texas) scored a career-high 36 points to lift the Seton Hall women's basketball team to a 76-67 victory over DePaul on Senior Night for its 20th victory of the season on Thursday.

On an emotional night when four graduating seniors were honored in a pregame ceremony, The Hall had to overcome a sluggish start before assuming control in the second quarter. The Pirates used an 11-0 run to take the lead and never trailed again.

Catalon finished only three points shy of Lauren Park-Lane's single-game record, going 9-for-19 from the field and a perfect 16-for-16 from the free-throw line, breaking Park-Lane's program record for most made free-throws in a single game without a miss. She also had six rebounds, three assists, three steals and drew 11 fouls.

Faith Masonius (Spring Lake, N.J.) collected her first career double-double with 13 points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Amari Wright (Jacksonville, Fla.) had her best game of the season with a season-high 13 points, a career-high eight rebounds, five assists and four steals. Kaydan Lawson (Cleveland, Ohio) had 10 points and three rebounds.

THE STORY:
Catalon found Masonius with a pretty feed down low for two and the Pirates took an early 7-2 lead. DePaul answered, however, with a 11-0 run to grab an 13-7 advantage with 3:35 left in the first quarter. The Hall scored seven of the next 10 points to cut its deficit to 16-14 early in the second quarter.

Trailing 22-18, The Hall went on a 11-0 run, highlighted by back-to-back three-pointers from Catalon and Masonius, to grab a 29-22 lead with 4:01 left before halftime. Another trifecta by Catalon put The Hall up 34-27 with 59 seconds left, but DePaul's Jorie Allen scored 20 seconds later to send the Pirates into the break up five. Seton Hall dominated the Blue Demons on the boards in the first half, 25-14, including grabbing 10 offensive rebounds.

A three-pointer by Lawson with 6:39 left in the third quarter gave Seton Hall a 44-36 lead. The Pirates methodically grew the lead to as many as 14 points as Catalon nearly out-scored DePaul by herself in the quarter, 15-to-13.

Another three by Lawson gave the Pirates a 13-point cushion, 59-46, with 9:12 left in the fourth. DePaul was able to cut its deficit to only six points, but the Pirates were able to put the game away on the free-throw line. Catalon was 8-for-8 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter alone.
