Delgado pulled away from the paint on D as the Butler bigs played on the perimeter. Delgado had only 5 boards and Ish with 3. Out rebounded 30-27. This. Is a huge change to our team that's been averaging 42 per BE game.

OK, but Delgado had a better size advantage tonight than vs. either Marquette or G'town, where he dominated both. For some reason we forgot that #31 was our best offensive option during last three wins.

This was an entire TEAM not being there tonight. There was on inside presence between Mike, or Ish, or Angel. And even when in other games the guards came to play, they REBOUNDED. Entire 1st half we had at least 3 Pirates outside the 3 point line on each shot. If it wasn't for Whitehead, this game would have ended then. We were outcoached in the 2nd half and Willard never set up any plays or adjusted and they just stagnated Whitehead. We need Desi and Derrick to drive to the middle and open the outside perimeter and it just didn't happen this evening. Listening to Hall line they kept saying this wasn't a bad loss. I completely disagree. This was a bad loss. Enough said for this evening. Goodnight. Signed Tired and Frustrated.

Not many rebounding chances when you shoot 49% and opponent shoots 56%.

Our interior defense was bad. Got beat in the lane constantly.

Butler has three forwards who can hurt you and none are post players. Makes for a tough matchup for Angel.

From this Carino post-game article:

"During a timeout huddle late in the game, someone on the Butler men’s basketball team blurted out, real loud, “They don’t want to guard.”

It was a reference to the Seton Hall men’s basketball team, and it might be the only time anyone said it over the past month."

When one player is off we usually have three or four others that step up but tonight we had two players that showed up to play..Isaiah and Desi.
Gordon tried as well as the others but they didn't have it tonight.

The 4 position, for most of the game were clueless on defense. Forget the fact they missed some 2' shots. And anther reason we lost a close game - free throw shooting! I hate to be an I told you so, but I stated before the season that would determine the close games.

We could not stop them off the dribble. I don't know if it was our effort or their ability. But that was a huge key to the game. I thought effort was there and they just beat us.
