Read that he wound up at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth a small liberal arts college that's a member of The NAIA.

Texas Wesleyan plays at FGCU on Nov. 16th and the game will be available on ESPN3 .

Wish him the best both athletically and academically.
+1. Wish him the best. The question is did SHU really do what's best for Cher? It was pretty obvious in the minutes that he played that he was not a D1 basketball player. Not sure what the kid wanted, but why was he recruited in the first place to transfer? three colleges in three years. We always point the finger at kids for not being able to make up their minds, but this seems more of a case where a kid was jerked around.

You see it all over college BB today where schools take a player who is a reach and there are legitimate questions about his ability to compete at the level of the conference that school is in and as 85 points out is it fair to that player. I think you see it more with big men always a prized commodity .

Fred Hill must have pestered Willard into agreeing to offer the ship. But glad to hear the young man has found a home.

We definitely recruited over him, rather than developed him. Not very ethical. But so much pressure is put on coaches to succeed that with their backs to the wall, they may resort to moves like this. Pitino does this sort of thing, as do other big time coaches.

Maybe, just maybe, he couldn't make it at this level and could not be "developed". It was worth a shot since you can't develop size, just how to use it and he had the size. At least he's going to be able to finish his career and get a degree so he will be rewarded for his efforts on and off the court. From what I understand, he was a solid citizen and good teammate.

Just like Chris Collins pushed him out the by telling to leave because he wanted his ship to recruit other players???

Look around.

College basketball is becoming more of a swill bucket each day.
We all sell our souls to get 18 year olds to play for us. For what?

Cher was a reach and there should never be a question about bringing better talent in when you're talking about recruiting over a player who is a reach and to say that's unethical is just not fair.

How any schools can say they had Sonny (Sunkett) & Cher (Ajou) attend their university, much less be players on its hoops team? Only one that I can think of.
