Not a NJ resident, first of all, but seeing Christie with Trump at his FBI session earlier this week, I wondered if he was still ---officially or technically--- the governor? Can't believe he is drawing a tax-payer generated salary if he is still in office.

Where is it that you live that you don't know that Chris Christie is the Governor of New Jersey?

Yes, I loved it. I worried it was going to be too mired in nostalgia, but there was a solid story there, alot of subverting of 80's tropes, and outstanding acting from all the kids (part. the girl who played Eleven), Winonah Ryder & the sheriff.

I'm a little apprehensive about them doing a 2nd season, but I hope they get it right.

Kind of feel the same way about season 2, but apparently they went into it with a story to tell that would take 2-3 seasons. Hopefully the quality doesn't drop. Each episode was perfect. Took me 3 days to finish.

Technically Christie is still the Governor of New Jersey, but in reality he has abandoned his responsibilities to this state just as Corey Booker previously did to the citizens of Newark. Maybe the solution is to never elect a pol with national aspirations but rather one who is primarily concerned with his own constituents here in our state.
