Class of 2015

I'm sad we lost out on trey Lowe, mcbrayer and silva. Temple, Minnesota, and South Carolina basketball should not be beating us for top 150 locals (I understand losing top end talent to actual good teams but those squads i thought we should win). Maybe I need to recalibrate my expectations on recruiting.

Temple has been kicking our ass in many ways the last ten years. Recruiting is just one of them and they've been to the Tourney a bunch of times too. Minnesota and SC is another story.

It seems as if St. John's has offered more kids in the short time since Mullin was hired than Seton has in the last couple years combined. Isn't a big part of recruiting making offers, so that you keep the school's name on the radar of others?

Many of us are living on memories and not reality.

Our recruiting has been dismal. and we are getting beaten at every turn.

Yes. this last class was solid, but they didn't improve as the season went on.

My outlook: : 8th at best in what is, for now, a mid-major conference.

By next March we will be starting from scratch again.

So damn depressing.

What SJU is doing and I love it is getting their name out there with as many recruits as possible. Create a positive buzz and at least forward the illusion that you are a hot destination.

Doing it any other way has always confused me.

You mean doing it the SHU way?

As Dan has noted correctly in an incredibly short time SJU has created a buzz about their program , gotten great press and moffered multiple recruits while Kevin & Co. continue to operate in stealth mode so no one knows or cares that we actually have a men's basketball program. Then you look at the women's program under Tony , how visible and engaged they are with their recruiting, with their interaction with their fan base , with their enthusiasm and with their results on the court and you have just shake your head and wonder what the hell is going on.

It amazes me that after employing a coach like Orr that did not enjoy recruiting and didn't want to spend the time doing it; we hire another coach with the same M.O.....and what's worse, is that we seem to be okay this it.

BTW, Tony has a 2G 4 star recruit visiting this weekend. Info on the Trove.

I really hope we get this player... Seems more like a "point forward" in those videos. Can rebound, dribble, pass, defend, shoot a bit, drive to the basket.

If we get her, seems like she'd play immdiately and we'd have TRS & TRS-light on the court at the same time.

Very intriguing and I hope she commits.
