I like the intensity he showed today and most of this season...wish he had started that years ago. Wish he didn't need to be on the hot seat for that to come about.
KW made some interesting points today regarding how he thought he over-coached early, as well as the comments on his team's maturity and fight.
We'll see. We've had great early wins before and the true test is where we end, but nevertheless reason for optimism.

yeah, I heard the comments - I hope he lets go of the reigns a little. The man knows D - but we don't have to fool or trick or confuse the opposition. Willard has done the hard part, he has the horses who can straight up defend - let them go to work. I don't want that point to take away from the win. Heck of a game for our much maligned coach.
This is a great point. X and O study ahead of time. Heart and willpower during the game. If he is finally reaching an important maturity point, we're in for a good run.
Overcoming a 13-point deficit to that team without us going beserk from 3 demonstrates considerable toughness and fight.

COMPLETELY AGREE. Not to mention that WSU was burying 3's like they were rain drops from a cloud burst. Man. It would have been completely understandable to see a team become dispirited by that attack.
We didn't fold when facing significant adversity early and late - that's what makes this one impressive

This is what struck most about the win. It was earned with tenacity on the defensive side of the ball, because the offense was not exactly fluid. I wonder what it was that got In the players' heads or hearts today to inspire them to give that kind of effort?

Can you imagine what they can do if Whitehead decides to stop unnecessarily taking very difficult shots. He's so talented but he needs more assists and less shots with a high degree of difficulty.

We're a different team when we move the ball. Hopefully the flow will come to him. We need him. He had some big shots in the first half that kept us in it.
