Interesting match-up on Wednesday night in Omaha. Creighton is obviously a top offensive team and slowing them down will take our best defensive effort of the year. It really starts and stop on that point, however, they have some weaknesses which are also our strengths:

*They struggle defending the interior and could be highly susceptible to our waves of dribble drives.
*Defensive rebounding is also a soft spot for them and we make a living on the offensive glass.

To win this game first and foremost we have to hit foul shots. You cannot leave points on the floor and beat a high quality team on the road.

It's amazing how bad we have been from the line in the last year and one half and have not lost a single games because of it. At least not one that imm comes to mind.

Our FT shooting is beyond belief; 331st in the country. Unreal. When it's that bad it's really a hit on your overall efficiency.

Creighton has a similar issue. They may be the best shooting team in the country, but struggle from the FT line. Not nearly as putrid as us, but similar head scratching.

Yeah, said the same thing about Rutgers and then they shoot 22-28.

I hope we shoot decently from the ft line but don't expect much cnhange. Hope angel, Ish. Mike hit low to mid 60s.

I hope we shoot well. Perfect game for Myles to be hot. Hope to see a strong post game too. They will score even against our D.

This may be our toughest road game of the season and it will be a tough one to win. We'll
need Jones and Thomas to take the pressure off Carrington from a ball handling standpoint. No idea how the offense plays in this one.

Creighton is well coached and they usually have a good system in place on the offensive end. Plus they'll sell that place out and it 's the Big East opener.

Delgado is certainly maturing on the court. Hopefully, he'll continue to play with smarts and pass the ball out when it's not there. His rebounding on defense is excellent.

Powell is going to be an important component in league play. He has to realize that the officials will call it to the letter of the law. He can't afford to pick up silly fouls that will keep his scoring on the bench. This is a significant test for him.

Can we win this one? Why not? A win here is huge in March. A loss is not the end of the world.

And we don't beat South Carolina without uncharacteristically good ft shooting, particularly in the first half. Khadeen closed the RU game well at the line.

The next time SH doesn't leave points on the floor will be the first time.

This game is a very tall order and could easily be a double-digit loss. If the Hall finds a way to win this one I would be both surprised and thrilled. Here's hoping the kids can make it happen.

Having watched Creighton on tv a few times they can be an explosive offensive team. Their defense is another story. If Seton Hall can slow them down defensively they have a chance to pull off the upset

South Carolina is very good team..... showed we can play most teams heads up and have a chance to win.

The only way you can win BigEast games while shooting 50% from the free throw line is:

1) you are significantly better than your opponent in other facets of the game

Or

2) your opponent shoots equally poor from the line.

The HD version of Fox Sports 2 is available on Verizon Fios and Directv .

Going to make the 2.5 hour drive to Omaha to see it in ultra-HD. How about we pull the upset fellas and enter the top 25.

Our PGs, with help from Ish, have kept guards from penetrating this year but Watson is the ultimate challenge. He's constantly in attack mode and looks to run off of every made basket. Make Watson beat you with his shooting. Back off him and dare him to shoot. He'll hit a couple but it's better than letting him drive and finding open teammates for 3s and dunks.

He has much better scorers around him this year. Foster is a deadly 3-pt shooter. Thomas can hit 3s and can attack the rim. Patton is a 7-foot dunk machine around the rim. Huff we know can get hot. Everyone has to get back on D in transition and stay with their man.

Creighton can score points in a hurry. Don't get flustered if they go on a run. We know what Watson likes to do, hopefully MJ and JT can do a solid job on him.

Watson is a blur. Him versus Jevon Thomas would be fun.

Madison Jones will be the key in very few games but I think he's the key tomorrow night. Creighton can score the basketball. We're going to play tougher defense than they have seen all year, but I have little doubt they're still going get their points. If we turn it over and reduce our number of possessions or play too much one on one, Creighton is good enough to run us out of the gym. If Jones can lead the way getting everyone involved with smart basketball from the inside out, we will have a happy flight back to Newark.

ehhh I don't buy the whole "Creighton has had this game circled for a long time". They will most likely win because they are a great team playing at home. I don't think they will be playing with any extra juice because it's against "Seton Hall".

This is a trap game for Creighton and McDermott is trying to keep them from looking forward to playing Nova on Saturday.

A good offense against our good defense and our offense against their defense. I dont see why this is such a bad matchup for us. Unlike last year, we have PG depth and both are fast. Their center is good but I think Angel can take him. The new wing they have is good too, and so is the shooter (guy who scored a bunch in the BET last year)They may beat us, and beating them there isn't easy, but I see this as a game when the big three might go off, specially Angel.

I say we win.

When you play a team like Creighton, you must be on every aspect of your game. Not that we can't but if we do, we have the overall talent to win this game. We can't start slow, don't turn the ball over and make every possession count on each side of the ball.
Asking a lot but why not Seton Hall!

We have to play well. I get the feeling people think we have to be perfect. I don't agree.

This game will tell us whether we will be nail biting come selection Sunday or wondering what region. And we don't have to win it to know the answer

We almost lost to DP early last year. A win would be awesome but there are 15 more games to undo the good or bad of tomorrow night. Of course, a non-competitve game would be very disappointing.

McDermott is wily. I respect him a ton. I think player matchups are one component. But there is such a thing as coaching matchups.

Willard has shown that he can play a pretty damned good game of poker with McDermott. So while a monte carlo simulation would predict a loss more than a win, we have much more than a puncher's chance (which is all that Gonzo ever gave us) in this game.
