Creighton up 60-51 over Xavier, under 4 mins to go

Let's not agonize over stuff like this. We just need to keep winning and that will mean more than who beats who on a given night in the league. I understand the concern, but I refuse to let it rain on our parade. There's just too much to feel good about right now.

I responded too soon.

You Are right.

My gut reaction was it makes the top BE teams look weak.

We wanna look strong lets beat Prov and split with X.

Why? This result is very good for Seton Hall. Makes the win at Creighton look even better and second place is now no longer a pipe dream. It's a possibility given the remaining schedules for each team.

Win tomorrow.
You either look at the chance of grabbing 2nd, and be optimistic or can look back at who's behind you and worry, the pessimist. I choose to look up at 2nd place.

Yep, me too. That's part of changing the culture around here. Forget about what other teams are doing, forget about what could hurt you. Focus on what you can do to keep growing, keep getting better and keep WINNING.

It's part of the reason why I wish fans would quit talking about just getting to 10-8. At this point, that's the bare minimum. This team can do better than that given how they're playing and what the remaining schedule looks like.

I guess I wanted Xavier to win...but if you are NCCA worthy, you do what you have to do and it really doesn't matter what any other team does.
Next...beat Butler!...Go Pirates

How do you figure this is bad?..

Our 2nd best road win just got a little more impressive.
Big east standings don't matter.
Creighton still has a lot to do to get a ncaa berth. 4-8 against top 100. only 6 wins against top 150. horrible loss. bad SOS.

It was nice having x and v so highly ranked. But I can't worry about other teams. Just win baby.

This is bad in 2 ways. This helps crieghton possibly over take us if they go on a roll and it drops Xavier down from a possible #1 seed. It s difficult but would be nice if the BE has 2 #1 seeds.

Rankings love to drop Big East for beating up on each other but do they opposite for Big 12. dumb.

I said it before. Just win baby. If the team keeps winning than everything takes care of itself. I would rather finish in second than third.

I don't get it. X losing shows vulnerabilities. That is on Film to us. We know what it takes to beat Creighton. Can we figure out how to beat X. I say at home....YES. Keeping on a roll is all we should care about. Let's sweep the rest and win the BET. I would have never have thought it going in, but we now go 9 Deep! We could pull it off. It is the power of positive thinking, but I finally believe with all cylinders firing we could go all....the....way!

In the you got to be kidding me department, Kenpom now projects SHU to finish the season in a tie for second place with Xavier at 12-6.

Is this a dream?

Obviously this young team is now in uncharted waters. With each victory comes more pressure. Pressure that this team has never faced. To date they have been up for the challenge, but it gets harder from here on out.

This experience enjoyable as it is (and of course not over) will pay big time dividends down the road if all our players come back next season.

IMO the future is very bright for the Hall with only injuries or early departures standing in the way.

Big East standings do matter. They are used to determine seedings in the BE tournament. Our chances of winning the BE tournament are probably greater with a higher seeding.

I look at it differently regarding pressure. I think if the team keeps winning, the pressure may actually go down. Playing Xavier at home in a few weeks with a chance at second place would be playing with house money, IMO. It was never expected (at least by the media and preseason polls) and not much downside if they lose a game or two.

It is no longer an outlandish dream that next year's team (with no injuries and departures) could get a high seed in the east region and make it to MSG. Ha, how about that- we're not even in the 2016 tourney yet, and I'm already speculating on our region in 2017.

Easier for most teams to play with low expectations. Once those expectations are ramped up the pressure builds.

Another loss means little to a team going nowhere. It means a lot when a goal, especially one unexpected is in play.

Experience usually is a cure for the above, that's why next season could really be special. For now we are all enjoying the ride but with the curiosity of the unknown.

No way to know how this team will react to the possible opportunity to finish second or third in the BE. If they can keep focused on taking it one game at a time then who knows but personally finishing anywhere from 2 to 4 in the Conference would be a great achievement .

I don't want to hear about next year right now. Don't want to hear about the "learning experience". If we fall flat on our face the rest of the way there will be no excuses. The team has the talent, and the discipline/strategy needs to be instilled by the coach.

I've heard plenty of times on this board that anything can happen. Transfers. People going pro. Injuries. A rosy next season picture right now could easily fizzle into nothing. All that matters is tonight's game, and next week's game. The speculation of "how great we'll be next year" can start on April 1st.

Last night was a big win for the Blue Jays, but it really doesn't change anything. Creighton (16-9, 7-5) would need an absolute blistering finish to overtake anyone. Their RPI is still only #86 even with last night's big upset. They only have 4 Top 100 wins: Xavier (8), at Seton Hall (37), Butler (68) and Georgetown (74).

Their non-conference resume is an absolute joke. The best win is over #159 Nebraska and they have a loss to #236 Loyola-Chicago.

I think Butler and Georgetown are both in better position than they are this morning. And they both needs runs too.

This and only this is my reaction to what goes on with the rest of the teams in TBEC. They will do what they will do and don't give a rat's ass about us.. Taking care of our business is what we can control. Oh, I'd rather finish first!!

Yes it is, and we better change the sheets!
