Sad end to gut who did a lot of good.

It was enviable he had to resign.

We all have our flaws. I wish him no harm but he paid a just price for the harm he caused.

Bad Karma comes to mind.

He gave good press conferences apparently. What’s worse than the indiscretions was the steps he and his team took to retaliate.

Someone in NY politics once told me Mario Cuomo was smart and ruthless; but Andrew only had one of those two traits.

Interesting that New York’s first African American (David Patterson) and female (Hochul) Governors came to office as a result of the previous Governor stepping down due to scandals (Spitzer and Cuomo).

I think he did a good job of small business growth as it outpaced the national average. I believe they had a 10 year relief on taxes which spurred small business growth, especially outside of NYC (think Hudson Valley, Finger Lakes, Adirondacks). NY is a beautiful state so I hope they continue to boost their tourism and help smaller towns that lost manufacturing.

Did a lot of good? Please explain.

The nursing home fiasco and the sexual harassments was the harm I was referring to and for which he should have been removed sooner.

The good was referring to the overall communication he provided during Covid, his early budget work, his balanced approach to Gay Marriage, increased jobs, tourism, ability to work through political differences, and other accomplishments.

The sad I was referring to was seeing a person who had skills and great potential throw it all away because of sexual misconduct and extreme hubris/arrogance.

Mario is turning over in his grave.

This is fair, although his covid policies were awful. I believe Andrew Cuomo is a sociopath, but NYS definitely increased jobs and tourism during his time.

Still one of the highest tax states in the nation to live in. Yea he did some good but his approach was intimidation and it is all starting to come out. His nursing home policy and their made up reporting to make them look good on Covid deaths is the most egregious practice of his administration IMO and I’m amazed NYorkers put up with those lies he spewed. If he was a Republican, the national press would have been relentless 5 months ago. They gave him a pass and now are all claiming this is the right thing to do and jumping on the bandwagon and interviewing the MeToo people. Hypocrites. He threw a lot of stones while he lived in the glass house.

Still one of the highest tax states in the nation to live in and he did nothing to improve that.

Agree with the first part but as to not doing anything, I am not sure that is accurate. He was active with property taxes.

FWIW, I was not a fan of him. My brother retired from NYS government and on a few occasions had to deal with the Office of the Governor. He did not have good things to say about Cuomo or his staff.

My parents, aunts, uncles, cousins were all born and raised in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Long Island. I left Long Island in 75. It was a great place to grow up but as of the last few years, I can't say I would want to live there anymore.

I hope Cuomo is soon forgotten and those that follow him do well for the state. It is a beautiful state but I fear it is on a bad down trend.

He was no different than any other politician, some good, a lot of bad. Hopefully that’s what the next politician brings because I’m more of a believer it can only get worse. I’m not optimistic of getting a politician who does a lot more good than bad.

There are a few. Not many though.

Wow, crony capitalism.

They couldn’t go after nursing home because, well, we know why. It’s prob why Murphy has never been challenged on the issue although I’m not sure if NJ NH’s were hit as hard as NY….I don’t follow that closely, so forgive me
