Bobby looked like that too against West Virginia on Friday. Both are huge upgrades from what we have, but this does give me a small degree of pause.Originally posted by SPK145:
Seemed a bit embarrassing tonight in Gonzo-like fashion with the refs. Nobody wants a coach who all the refs hate, he's got to tone it down.
Steve, you've been clamoring for a coach with big personality. Lots of times with big personalities comes that type of display.Originally posted by SPK145:

Yes, I want someone with a little edge to them but not over the top.Originally posted by BabyBlue:

Years ago, I watched a TOC fame that SA had in the bag from opening tip. BH complained constantly. Not outrageously, but with every whistle, he bristled.Originally posted by Samsa:

I prefer Clapnchew. And Steve, don't you owe us your promised season's end coach assessment or did I miss it?Originally posted by SPK145:

Still way better than Coach Clapsalot but there has to be a happy medium.
I do like that one.Originally posted by chickenbox:

I couldn't wait to seasons end so I've pretty much given my thoughts on The Water Boy.

So, then we are going to have a coaching vacancy?
I think both Hurleys are fantastic and make all the sense in the world to succeed for a long time at Seton Hall.
Vacancy and vacant are 2 different things.Originally posted by lwyrup:

There's a coaching vacancy between Kevin Willard's ears.

Did not watch game, but just looked at box score - Stanford shot 49 free throws and URI shot 21 free throws, are you kidding me 49 to 21? I would be upset with the ref's !
Leave him alone, he once hit a 3-pointer. In NBA2K.Originally posted by warben32:

This guy wants you to know that Coach Clapper is a fine name...
Kyle Anderson probably will (although he transfered into St Ants for his last few years). Rodrick Rhodes and Dehere each played for a number of years. Roshown McLeod played in the league and so did David Rivers. Not sure of anyone who made it big but quite a few who made it and I bet I'm missing a few names.Originally posted by Izo:
Not yet ,Bobby and Danny Hurley need more time on the sidelines. They also need to tone it down .I always felt the refs had a difficult time dealing with Gonzales especially with the close calls
I also recall the great St. Anthony's program and Bobby Hurley Sr. They had some great high school stars ,David Rivers,Bobby Hurley ,Jerry Walker,Terry Dehere , Mike Rosario and others .remember Roddrick Rhodes who was originally slated for SH ,but went on a visit to Rick Pitino 's Kentucky ,and at a game some 19000 fans' eyes looked and pointed to where he was sitting ,yelling we want you or something .Went to Kentucky for three years ,moderate success .Then ,before his senior year at Kenticky ,Pitino kind of hinted that he would not be a major player .Transferred and sat out a year at Southern Caiifornia .good year at USC .
In the legendary St Anthony's program under Bobby Hurley Sr .does anybody know of any St Anthony 's players that made it big in the pros ?
IDK about KA in the NBA. Hasn't he been bounced around between the Spurs and the D League this year? Nothing wrong with that as a rookie and the Spurs have a veteran roster that is tough to crack, but not sure that is an indication that he will make it big.Originally posted by Section112:

That's how I would see it.Originally posted by SHUMA04:
Doesn't the lack of major NBA talent just speak to how good of a coach Bob Sr. is?
Ie he hasn't had the kind of silly natural talent it takes to succeed in the NBA but he has coached up and gotten a heck of a lot from the talent he had to work with.
