Dec 12th vs Monmouth

Princeton is a loaded gun. You really don't get much if you beat them but risk getting beaten and that will kill your stats. Getting beat by a Mizzou in KC will hurt us less and help SOS. I'd prefer scheduling a Mizzou over Princeton.

Hey Ed, you can bring your Monmouth pal in the Love Van to this one!

Losing to Princeton will be a bad sign. I don’t favor hiding. And btw, I have never seen Princeton listed as a bad loss on a tourney resume.

Albany and FDU have been mentioned at various points here. That would be 5 N/C home games if the case. Maybe room for one more?

Anything on the rest of the pre conference schedule?
I spoke to Collin in the ticket office on Tuesday and asked if there was an ETA on a release date for the OOC. He didn't have one -- other than to say he was waiting for things to be finalized.

Here is what I've been able to piece together from what has been posted/officially announced.

Monday - 11/6 - St. Peter's
Saturday - 11/11 - FDU
Wednesday - 11/15 - Albany
Thursday - 11/23/Friday 11/24 - San Diego tournament (Iowa, Oklahoma, USC)
Tuesday - 12/5 @ Baylor
Saturday - 12/9 - Rutgers
Tuesday - 12/12 - Monmouth
Sunday - 12/17 - Missouri (in KC)

That leaves two dates. I'm expecting both will be guarantee game fare.

It's been nearly five years since Princeton has beaten a school with a legitimate at-large opportunity. That was Arizona State in 2018-19. They were a 23-win team that made the First Four team that year (they beat SJU).

Princeton went 14-12 against D-I opposition and finished with a NET of 180. I'm guessing that would have qualified as a bad loss -- especially for the Pac-12 runner-up that went out in the conference tournament semi-finals.

PAC 12 is and has been a very weak conference. Not sure what the RPI when they beat Arizona. Just seems losing to Princeton doesn’t have the same damage as losing to FDU which we have in the last 10 years or so.

I think part of the reason for Princeton lacking at-large quality wins is because they haven‘t many chances to play them.

An at-large candidate losing at home to NET 180 is a bad loss. Full stop. That's a Q4 loss and has nothing to do with the conference. It's true that losing to FDU would likely be worse since their NET is probably above 200 most years. A home loss would still be Q4 regardless though.

Completely agree. Their reputation precedes them even if they haven't lived up to it consistently in years past. They are not unlike a lot of solid mid-majors who find it difficult to schedule. The risk/reward ratio is too high for a lot of good team.

Princeton did beat South Carolina and Oregon State a couple of years ago but SC was middling and OSU was awful that season.

A good schedule for this group, IMO. The one missing element is a big home game. I know Rutgers is for rivalry reasons, but I like seeing a name brand come into The Rock in the non-conference portion, obviously.

Real Shame Baylor is on a Tuesday, still trying to rally a crew to make it but that throws a big wrench if peoples plans
