MILWAUKEE - Senior Angel Delgado (Bajos De Haina, Dominican Republic) notched his NCAA-leading 63rd career double-double, and senior Ismael Sanogo (Newark, N.J.) scored a career-high 14 points, but the No. 13 Seton Hall men's basketball team ran into a tough Marquette squad on the road that made 11 three-pointers, as the Golden Eagles won 84-64 Tuesday night at BMO Harris Bradley Center.

Delgado finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and two assists, and Sanogo scored his 14 on 6-of-8 shooting including 2-for-2 from three. Senior Khadeen Carrington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) issued seven of the team's 19 assists, and senior Desi Rodriguez (Bronx, N.Y.) finished with 11 points and a career-high six assists.

Seton Hall (14-3, 3-1 BIG EAST) saw its five-game winning streak snapped, and the Pirates were the last remaining unbeaten team in the BIG EAST until tonight.

Turning Point
After trailing most of the first half and going into halftime down 40-32, the Pirates came out in the second half hot with a 9-2 run that included a three from sophomore Myles Powell (Trenton, N.J.) and two baskets from junior Michael Nzei (Makurdi, Nigeria). The Hall got the deficit to one, 42-41, and then got a stop on defense before an errant outlet pass returned possession to Marquette. Golden Eagles senior Andrew Rowsey was then fouled on a three-point attempt late in the shot clock and made all three free throws to put Marquette back up four, 45-41.

That seemingly took the wind out of Seton Hall's sails, as the Golden Eagles went on a 16-0 run that last nearly four minutes. In that span, the Pirates were 0-for-7 from the field and committed four of their 12 turnovers.

Seton Hall made a mini-run to get the deficit back to nine, thanks in large part to offense from Sanogo, but another Marquette run, this time 14-2, put an end to what could have been another big road comeback.

Inside the Numbers
  • Seton Hall continues to shoot the ball well overall, making 44.1 percent of their attempts (26-for-59), but struggled from behind the arc at only 4-for-13 (30.8 percent). The Hall did do a solid job at the free throw line, going 8-for-10. Marquette was also at 44.1 percent overall (30-for-68), but excelled from downtown, making 11 of 27 shots (40.7 percent). The Golden Eagles were also perfect at the free throw line, going 13-for-13.
  • The Pirates struggled with rebounding, losing the battle 38-33. This included Marquette grabbing 12 offensive rebounds to generate 17 second chance points.
  • Sanogo scored a career-high 14 points, going 6-for-8 from the field and connecting on his first two three-pointers of the season. He also added six rebounds. His previous career high in scoring was 12 points.
  • Delgado finished with 12 points, 10 rebounds and two assists to pick up his sixth straight double-double, 13th of the season and NCAA-leading 63rd of his career.
  • Carrington had a season-high seven assists against just two turnovers. He scored six points, snapping a 10-game streak of scoring in double figures.
  • Rodriguez scored 11 points and issued a career-high six assists, surpassing his previous high of five.
News & Notes
  • Seton Hall's five-game winning streak was snapped, and the Pirates fell short of starting BIG EAST play 4-0 for the first time since 1992-93. The Pirates also were one win shy of equaling their best 17-game start under head coach Kevin Willard. Now standing at 14-3, The Hall was 15-2 back in 2011-12.
  • Seton Hall fell to 2-6 all-time at BMO Harris Bradley Center, which is in its final year. Marquette will be moving into a new arena next season.
  • As the No. 13 team in the nation, Seton Hall fell to 9-2 all-time. This was the first game The Hall has played when ranked No. 13 since 1991.
  • Carrington surpassed Eugene Harvey (2006-10) for 15th all-time in Seton Hall scoring history. He now has 1,563 points.
  • Rodriguez surpassed both Adrian Griffin (1992-96) and Glenn Mosley (1973-77) for 21st all-time in Seton Hall scoring history. He has 1,424 points.
  • Delgado surpassed Notre Dame's Luke Harangody (2006-10) for second all-time in BIG EAST conference-only rebounds. He now has 665 in 58 career BIG EAST games and is only 37 shy of setting a new BIG EAST record, currently held by Syracuse's Derrick Coleman (1986-90, 701).
