DeSantis education reform

This is an issue that deserves some scrutiny during a presidential campaign.
If Desantis can just stick with saying that he wanted to help ensure the books available were appropriate for grade level this is something that could be a positive for him. A lot of parents will agree with that sentiment even if he was erring on the side of caution. He should avoid his "anti-woke" diatribes on this topic though. It doesn't help him.
Sorry, but the constant daily DeSantis tweets from the OP actually detracts for reading any of the content. He has been a very effective governor and the residents agree. He’s a big boy and will have to figure out how to pivot as a national candidate. If he doesn’t he only has himself to blame.
Why? The federal government has no constitutional role in education.

I certainly get that perspective, but none of the President's we have elected are strict textualists and they always have policy positions on what the federal government should be doing in education. If this issue comes up on the campaign trail and Desantis says that this was just a model for Florida and each state should do what is best for them (which would be a good answer) I'd agree with your sentiment here.. but I don't believe that is how he would answer the question or how he would treat the issue if elected, hence the scrutiny.
fwiw, as I've read into the "book ban" in Florida I've agreed that it was appropriate to remove (or relocate for more mature kids) some of the books. Some I didn't agree with as well, but an answer like erring on the side of caution as you ensure kids have access to age appropriate books would be reasonable for most people.
