I saw today by one report she surpassed him in polling in new hampshire

They are all playing for second hoping that Trump drops out but he needs to be all in on Iowa so this is a good move for him.

Haley is on track to outperform him in NH and SC, if she can pull ahead in Iowa as well, that would be crushing for Desantis.

At this point, DeSantis needs to be in second place coming into Super Tuesday. Haley just needs to be a solid #3 in NH and Iowa and can still make it to Super Tuesday. At some point they will have to consolidate behind one or the other.
