no matter where/what whitehead and Delgado end up after this season, I like having these 4 around for hopefully 2 years after this season. You can build something with these guys.

Right now it would be a mistake to enter the draft. I think they know it too (i think thats why we are still seeing whitehead make selfish plays) trying to up his stock, doesnt realize hes making it worse

Obviously, I was talking about the possibilities for next year and the year after that if everyone stayed. This year could be good, but I don't expect much.

The talent is there, the pieces are in place to have a very special year next year and the year after.

This team is capable of being great, but in order to do that we need to start playing smarter basketball. We take an unbelievable amount of bad shots and no matter how good our players are we will not get the results we want until we start playing smarter.

We have a really nice young core with those four guys you mentioned. Have to see how they progress throughout the season. We've had a number of players/teams look good during the non-conference, then flame out. These four look legit to me though and they and the staff deserve credit.

Right now Whitehead and Delgado are riding on hype when it comes to the constant posts of them having any chance to depart after the season. The hype comes from how talented they are as players and I'm certainly glad we have them, but if you judged them on their play this year there wouldn't be a single post about either of them leaving.

Whitehead flashes the raw talent but is a bad shooter and highly turnover prone at the moment. He needs to demonstrate he can show that talent consistently within an actual basketball format. Delgado looks a step slow and far too disconnected at times. He would get hammered at then next level.

If we are really banking on next year for a big, big run, then Willard comes back. For him not to return, not considering the potential pay out, all he has to do is equal last year's record---or be very competitive in close losses to good teams. I think this will happen and I agree with it.
