So conflicted on my feelings towards him. The Duke thing is nauseating, and never understood the lack of love he has shown towards SHU over the years. I was a huge fan growing up watching college hoops, and wrote him a letter once which prompted him to send a personalized, signed copy of his book to me. He's clearly got a big heart. I guess that's the bottom line once it's all said and done.
Nice that he did that, though he probably would have done the same for any team if he were in the area. Always a front runner. Loved Amaker. For me his shtick got old real fast.... Like in year two.

I have never heard DV say anything bad about SHU. Going back to 1989 he has always rooted for the Hall.

Maybe he doesnt want to show how much he cares. maybe he thinks he would show too much bias because it's his Alma mater. Whatever the reason, he does seem to care about the Pirates. he once tweeted at me saying that he knows he gets a lot of flack due to his lack of visible Pirate Blue love but that he does indeed care
