As you know states like Florida start counting mail in ballots up to three weeks before Election Day and that is why they provide same day election results.Maybe AZ enjoys all the attention, love conspiracy series, etc. or are just plain stubborn and stupid so they won’t change the process.

Think you are wrong on that it is sloppy process they don’t seem to want to change.

Whomever makes the call on when counting mail ins will start. It is probably legislature or election supervisory officials.

Agreed, they should be able to count mail ballots, which is majority in AZ, before election day. Per this NPR article, they're not allowed until day after, which is what leads to the absurd fraud claims that are becoming common.

Two statements can be true.

Every legally casted vote should be counted.

There should be reasonable expectation to have vote tabulations in a faster process.

Which leads to, should a centralized federally controlled process allow for standardized procedure in how a ballot is casted and tallied?

I did early voting for second year in a row at my township library. I was vetted, casted my ballot and put it through the scanner in less than 5 min.

Really is asinine that votes cast weeks in advance aren’t opened and counted until after live, in person voting.

Why are mail in ballots so heavily in favor of Democrats? Not saying election fraud, simply wondering. Maybe conservative republicans do not trust mail in ballots? Seems like older individuals who would lean conservative would be the ones using mail in ballots. Maybe mail in ballots are a liberal way of thinking? Again not crying foul, looking for an explanation other than they tend to always lean in favor of democratic candidates.

Wondered the same myself, and often very heavily in their favor.

Maybe because more democrats live in urban areas where in person voting absolutely sucks? Dense populations tend to have long lines? City living makes it harder to get to the polls? All valid possibilities.

In Rhode Island the Democratic Party sends representatives into Senior living establishments and sets up in the lobby encouraging people to vote. Either party could do this. Could it be that simple? If it was I’m sure republicans would also be doing the same things. Im sure msm TV news must be citing reasons.

Thanks that very well might explain it. I live in the suburbs so no line but if I lived in the city I would probably do the same thing. I always think of mail in votes coming from elderly folks stuck at home, but could be younger people not wanting to waste an entire night. Reasonable explanation.

Same boat. I’m in and out in 15 minutes tops at the local firehouse whenever I go. But you see some of the lines of 2-3 hours in cities, sometimes in the rain or could be heat in some areas. Why go through that when you can fill it out at home and drop it in a box?

I believe we will someday vote right on our phone like American idol. We would know the winner right away. With facial recognition why not. No process will never be perfect. If we just counted votes quicker now people would have more faith.

Maybe it’s because Trump didn’t want early balloting and encouraged his followers to be same day voting. Meanwhile the Dems encouraged mail in ballots.

I would think the technology is there today and most likely will be implemented in the next couple decades.

To think the first iPhone came out 15 years ago, consider what the next 15 will look like.

I do think it’s a bit ridiculous for a number of CA districts to still be at 50%.

How about Nevada? Not much bigger than CT. Imagine if it had 6,000,000 residents rather than just 3,000,000? We'd learn of GA's run off results sooner.
