it seems that way, right? It's been interesting to see how these things blew up from a social media standpoint. One of the stations I work for is Hot 97. One of the companies that makes these sent a bunch of them to the air talent on Hot 97, as well as seemingly tons of other "tastemakers" and celebs (the first time I saw one of these was during the NBA playoffs when I think JR Smith was zipping around on one). The Hot 97 guys, rappers, instagram models, etc were then all over social media with them, and voila...the next fad started. Smart move.
