SPOKANE, Wash. — Star forward Drew Timme and wing Julian Strawther said Wednesday they will drop out of the NBA draft and return to the Gonzaga basketball team next season, a decision announced a day after guard Rasir Bolton also said he would return to the Bulldogs.

Timme is the reigning West Coast Conference player of the year, and led the Zags with an average of 18.4 points per game last season. He added 6.8 rebounds per game and was an AP Second Team All-American.

“I’m back,” Timme tweeted late Wednesday, which was the deadline to drop out of the NBA draft and return for his senior year.

All five Gonzaga starters declared for the NBA draft after last season. Only center Chet Holmgren, who is expected to be a first-round pick, and guard Andrew Nembhard remain in the draft.

The 6-foot-7 Strawther averaged 11.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game last season while starting 31 of 32 games.

Bolton is returning to Gonzaga using the COVID-19 waiver granted to all players from the 2020-21 season. He joined the Zags last season as a graduate transfer from Iowa State.

Bolton averaged 11.2 points, 2.3 assists and 2.4 rebounds while starting all 32 games for the Bulldogs. He led the Zags in 3-pointers (64) and 3-point percentage (46.0).

Timme, Strawther and Bolton helped the Bulldogs advance to their 23rd straight NCAA Tournament.

Projected first-round pick Trevor Keels leaving Duke, will keep name in NBA draft, source says

Trevor Keels is keeping his name in the 2022 NBA draft and will forgo his remaining eligibility at Duke, a source told ESPN on Wednesday.

Keels had until 11:59 PM ET to withdraw his name from the NBA draft and retain his eligibility and return to school, which he elected not to do.

The 6-foot-5 Keels is projected as ESPN's No. 26 pick in the 2022 draft. He is one of the youngest players currently projected to be picked at just 18 years old. Keels was named to the ACC's All-Rookie team after a strong freshman season at Duke that included a 25-point outburst in the opening game of the season in the Champions Classic against Kentucky in Madison Square Garden. He finished strong with a 19-point outing in the NCAA Final Four against North Carolina, the final game of head coach Mike Krzyzewski's career.

A two-way guard with a strong frame and a 6-7 wingspan, Keels is intriguing to NBA teams due to the combination of toughness, off-court intangibles, feel for the game, defensive versatility and passing creativity he shows. He showed a sense for the moment in some of Duke's biggest games this season, coming to life as a shot-maker and finisher around the basket in several crucial moments despite his youth.

The 2022 NBA draft will be held on June 23 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

I am sure Timme is a terrific player. But I just havent seen a pro in the times I have watched him play. I would love to have a bunch of kids on my team (or even one...) who have his feel for being close to the hoop, to know when to pivot, fake, whatever is neded to get a good shot - something we have really lacked - but just havent thought that his skills translate to the NBA.

But he is an awesome College player. Great post moves. Gonzaga will be in contention for a final four.
