After watching the Georgetown end-of-game fouling and then the Super Bowl end of game penalty with 11 seconds left (which required a ten second countdown), I'd be curious to hear thoughts on the following:
Should there be a rule change regarding end-of-game (final 2 minutes?) fouls committed prior to an inbound play?
Before Flagrant 1 and 2, we had intentional fouls but no longer have that. It seems without any penalty for doing so, the smart play is to intentionally foul the worst shooter before the inbound play and before the clock starts. Why wait for the inbound play to begin and risk having to foul the best shooter and lose seconds off the clock?
I'd be in favor of a 1 shot technical and return the ball to the inbounding team at their end of the court.
