Announcement Primer: Isaiah Briscoe

Five-star Isaiah Briscoe is set to announce. Here is a look at his recruitment, his talent, and picks on where he ends up.
The Recruitment
This has been a long recruitment as Briscoe has been high on the national radar since he was a freshman.
Early on the buzz with Briscoe actually surrounded the Syracuse Orange. Briscoe was seen as a lean to Syracuse due to the proximity to his home and also based on the fact that his sister was attending school there. However Syracuse pulled in commitments, and that led to the Orange falling out of this battle.
After Syracuse, it was Arizona that seemed to have most of the "heat" for Briscoe. Briscoe has family in the desert, and he liked the coaching staff and the program overall. However when the Wildcats landed Allonzo Trier, that took them out of the mix for Briscoe.
However the whole time hanging around for Briscoe was St. John's. Steve Lavin and his staff kept plugging away and plugging away with Briscoe. They got him on campus several times, and made a huge impression selling the New York market and a chance to be the man right away.
Eventually the list would be narrowed down to Connecticut, St. John's, and Kentucky (who entered late). All three would get official visits, and seemingly the Red Storm and Wildcats asserted themselves as the favorites.
The Talent
The one thing that Briscoe has always been able to do is score the basketball. While he wouldn't be classified as a knock down shooter, Briscoe has always been able to put points on the board and does so with the ability to get into the lane and finish as well as hit open shots.
Right now he is at his best when he is playing with the ball in his hands, despite not being a true point guard. Still at his size he can play both on and off the ball, and defensively now that his body is in better shape, he has proven to be adequate on that end of the court.
Overall Briscoe keeps improving and has been making strides with his game to be more efficient offensively and at the same time improving defensively, and that is now why he finds himself as one of the top guards in the country, and a likely McDonald's All-American.
Predictions
Brian Snow: This is still a pick I don't feel super comfortable about because Briscoe is a kid who doesn't really tell a lot of people much. Still every bit of information I do have is indicating that he will pick the Wildcats. Unless St. John's finds a way to make an incredible last minute rally, Kentucky is going to get one of the top combo guards in the country and someone who has an impressive ability to score the basketball. Prediction: KENTUCKY
Evan Daniels: This has been an interesting recruitment with quite a few twists and turns. In the end, I like Kentucky heading into the final day of his decision. The Wildcats seem to have close nicely and I think Briscoe will fit in nicely with current UK point guard Tyler Ulis. The two can certainly co-exist in UK's backcourt. Prediction: KENTUCKY
