Some more thoughts. It did get a bit sloppy at the end. We were up 18 or 20 and let it sag a bit.
With a couple of minutes left, we listened into the time out from Tony which was a torch-lighter for sure: "Are you finished? Are you done yet? Did you win the game yet? PLAY. PLAAAAAAYYY THE GAME!!!!!!"
We smiled. It was so danged motivating that we were on Cloud 9.
Everyone without an injury got time. What interested me is that of the "younger crew" needing more experience (Claire, Martha, Jordan M), he gave a couple of opportunities for Claire to step it up. I noted above her first go was really quite strong for her - maybe her best physical performance so far. Her second go was less effective. Jordan M and Martha K are "raw young" especially Martha. But if the arc for Egan, Inman and Lundberg is an indicator, we'll see improvement in Kuderer and Molyneaux.
Very good minutes from Mosley today.
The rain of threes from Tab and Tiff pretty much blew the wings off the Hawk (poor new Hawk is pretty anemic - I've seen past Hawks who are much more energetic).
Monster games from Gordon and Byrne - wow. First off, Byrne is going to eat other players for breakfast lunch and dinner by her Sophomore year - period case closed - such a player for our WBB is not in my memory bank. I think Byrne's toughness is really motivating Gordon who is finishing at the rim, getting rebounds and making solid passing and outlets. Really a tremendously improved player already.
Kena and Aleesha - they are the straws that stir the drink - they get the job done even on an off day.
All in all, a very satisfying outing - let's go take it all in Texas, Cancun and Georgia!
