Felt Announces Title Promotions for Three Seton Hall Administrators

South Orange, N.J. - Seton Hall Director of Athletics Bryan Felt has announced three staff member title promotions in recognition of their outstanding service to the department. Promoted from Assistant Athletics Director to Associate Athletics Director are Peter Long and Matthew Sweeney and promoted to Assistant Athletics Director is Gregg Childers.

"Congratulations to Peter, Matt and Gregg on well-deserved promotions," Felt said. "We're thankful to have them in their roles, helping our student-athletes on a daily basis and enriching their experiences. I look forward to continue working with them and our entire department on continuing to elevate Seton Hall Athletics."

Long, now Associate Athletics Director for Digital Media & Communications, is a 2014 St. John's graduate who first came to Seton Hall in September 2019 after a successful tenure at Virginia Tech. He currently oversees all media relations and social media efforts for the nationally prominent men's basketball program that is coming off winning the 2024 NIT championship. He also works closely with the women's soccer and baseball programs, assists in managing the student broadcasting and creative services group, Pirate Sports Network.

Sweeney, now Associate Athletics Director for Communications, is a 2000 graduate of Seton Hall and returned to his alma mater in October 2006. He is currently the primary media relations contact for the women's basketball, volleyball and men's & women's golf teams and, over the course of his 17 seasons, he has worked closely with nearly every program. Sweeney is the media coordinator for the 2025 NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament East Regional that Seton Hall is hosting at Prudential Center, a role he also held in 2011.

Childers, now Assistant Athletics Director for Facilities & Operations, is a 2015 graduate of Seton Hall and was head student manager for the men's basketball team his senior year. After nearly three years as director of facility, game and equipment operations at Fairfield, he returned to Seton Hall in June 2022, first as the assistant equipment manager before becoming the facilities & operations assistant in October 2022. In his current position, he assists in all aspects of facilities and operations and manages all home athletics events.
