Seton Hall was arguably the hottest team in the country at the end of the season or, approximately for the last ten games or so; we beat #5 Xavier twice, within 2 weeks, the last victory in the BET; we beat #1 Villanova in the BET Championship game; we beat Providence twice; we finished a surprising 3rd place, after being picked 6th in the BE; we win 7 conference games on the road, etc.
...and we are a #6 seed! Shipped out to Denver! Playing the last game 11pm, turned into a 12am start! Against #11 seed Gonzaga, who was favored over us a #6 seed and to make matters worse #11 Gonzaga is favored over #3 Utah tonight! WHAT!!!
I am not a basketball guru but, could someone explain to me the rational of the Committee's "thinking" regarding the seeding, as outlined above and below:
For the icing on the cake, and in my opinion the most bothersome thing (tied with the seeding outlined in the prior paragraph) is, the following statement which I believe should have pertained to us and naturally to some other teams:
Every year, the committee explains away why teams do not make the tournament or, the reasons for the seeds, etc. by stating with a straight face the following:
We look at a very key and critical factor; one that holds lot of weight specifically, is how the teams finished the season and how the particular team performed in its tournament.
Really!!!
Again, could someone explain all of the above?
However, I am not going to allow one game ruin or, make me ever forget this magnificent season. It was amazing what our special players accomplished this season!
