Great job so far on the homestand and really taking care of business. It would be
a shame to not finish with a big effort vs Butler.

I think the team, coaches and fans deserve a great Superbowl Sunday day off. Two nice
games this week against Marquette and Gtown. Take a deep breath and back to hard practice
on Monday. We need wins and it's important to seize this opportunity against Butler. We know
they're trying to play their way back in to the picture.

The good news is that we beat GTown despite the difficult shooting from the outside. If SHU plays
with that intensity and makes some shots, they can beat Butler. The players have to show maturity
and keep their focus.

How quickly can Gordon foul out Jones on offensive foul calls?

Did it seem K.C. was a step slower last night...and some what with I.W.? I hope it was just one of those games...I guess every player goes through it.

I thought GTown's defense did a very good job of taking away gaps and spaces that both
KC and IW usually are able to exploit. The GTown team as a whole has great length and that
frustrated our guys on offense. I did not believe that KC was a step slow. I thought Singh's misses
are what prevented SHU from getting more separation and building the lead. It's too bad because he had
great looks. Carrington's 3's were a bit more challenged.

IW I thought got caught in that place where he's trying to be a go to guy, a point guard and a bit of that
me against you playground concept. It was a mixed bag to some degree. He still was successful, but not
an A game for him.

I suspect Ish will be assigned to guard Jones at the start, with Gordon relieving him. We are becoming a very good defensive team. It's quite nice to see.

I mentioned Carrington was struggling his past 3 games now 4 in a row. Just a slump or something wrong?

I think they sluffed off to take away the drive ability and dared him to hit the 3 which he struggled at. He needs to get that outside stroke going to keep these defenders honest.

You never know if a kid is playing a little hurt or his confidence is waning when he shoots it. Khadeen is a grinder though.

And I was proud of Isaiah too - his shot was off but he made some crazy good passes and played his heart out on D last night. Did you see the one short jumper he missed on one side of the rim and somehow he ends up getting his own rebound on the other side of the rim and scored? And the three he buried just when we needed it - clutch shot.

All out effort from everyone won that game last night. From Ish to Angel the animal to Derrick. Plus the contributions from the guys struggling but still playing great D and Anthony had great minutes and even Singh played tough defensively and had some good boards. All out effort and grit and determination last night was on full display - it was awesome.

Offered this without being asked last night.

I am in a shooting slump the last 4 games so until my shot comes back I'll do other things on the court. Like play defense and look for my teammates.
