Go get him Lyons, he's better than what we've got and at his age we don't even need to make a long-term commitment to him...GO GET HIM!

Only if he gets to play Willard 2x every year for the duration of his contract

Dumber than keeping Willard.

I'll never forget, I was on a train with my father coming back from MSG Gonzo's first or second year where we lost to Virginia Tech as an undercard to Duke and Gonzaga. The arena was easily 75% Duke fans but somehow we were one row over from a Clemson fan/alum. She must have attended with her boyfriend or someone who liked Duke, but this girl could not stop praising Oliver Purnell. Typical line: well Coach K is great obviously, but us Clemson fans are spoiled ourselves, we've got Oliver Purnell! I had to look away a couple times to keep from cracking up but she was dead serious, talking about Purnell as some mythical basketball coach. Just a little moment but something that has stuck with me for almost ten years now.

I actually believe that Purnell is a better coach than his (awful) record at DePaul would indicate. He got into a tough spot there, and refused to play ball with the Chicago AAU guys (much like Mike Jarvis did at SJU), and it made it very tough to turn things around there. But he actually had a good resume before going there, so that doesn't simply disappear from his record.
