Forward Party

I think it will be a tough sell to the general public without having more concrete positions to run on, but adults in a room problem solving is something I would be more interested in.

trump won without a lot of concrete positions. that may not matter anymore. the mere mention of bipartisan will be intruiging to some people.

but sadly most people identify their souls with their party.

I struggle to see how they make momentum while remaining so nebulous, but an open forum of ideas is something I ultimately support. It perhaps works more regularly in local positions where wider acceptance of a single candidate you have some disagreements with seems more plausible/achievable, but the consensus building gets much more challenging state-wide and nationally.

Nice concept. I suspect they will join the dustbin of aspiring third political parties.

They have two things going for them. Yang represents the next generation. And the lousy approval rating of Congress should tell you something as well.

Still an uphill battle but I give them credit.

US is not built for a successful 3rd political party
This is very true. How the US work is one party gets subsumed by something different. Or the third party get incorporated by one of the two parties. For example, the Republican Party is a thing of the past. It has been eaten up by Trumpism.

Another example, the Dixiecrats split up and some went to the Republican Party and some stayed in the Democratic Party.

Heard an interesting theory today. If Trump wins Republican primary, don’t be surprised if a third party candidate is launched to take enough votes to prevent him from being elected. Liz Cheney?

Liz Cheney as an independent would take more votes from Biden, LOL:

Got to be millions who will back Liz for president LOL Bush /Cheney family ardent dislike for trump understandable given Trump’s criticism of their administration.Liz will go from hero of MSM to nobody soon and realize she has no traction in presidential run and ego trip was great even though short lived.Pols like Liz cheered for going against Republican Party by MSM ,but Pols like Mancin criticised for holding up legislation.

What you don’t understand is that Liz Chaney has no expectation of winning. Her running is to torment Trump during the debates and have an answer to Trump’s cult following. If she runs as an independent, her goal is to peel off enough independent and real Republican votes away from Trump.

Well you're wrong about Cheney hurting Trump if she runs as an independent.

And then it's not about country over party for Cheney anymore but her own feud with Trump?

Why? There are plenty of Republicans and Independents that don't want to vote for Trump and will not want to vote for Biden or anyone else that is a D. Those votes may have gone to Trump.

Where did you say she would run as an Independent?

Fascinating poll. That is one hell of a swing. But it’s just one poll. Nevertheless, it is interesting.
