Free board

not sure how you feel about this, and it's just my opinion. But have you given consideration to consolidating threads? Part of what makes the Free site look like a shit show is that 10 nitwits post the same thing by starting different threads. I don't think we need one poster starting a thread handing in his resignation, then another poster starting a thread on why the fans shouldn't be blamed. Just one of many examples.

Redmen.com says the same things about Steve Lavin that our fans say about Kevin Willard. It's all in a bizarre/OCD fashion where it's on the same thread, but it doesn't give the same outward appearance that our board does. Like you've said, the vocal minority of over the top posters is heard loud and clear.

"Nitwits"? What qualifies someone to be a nitwit? My vote is not to consolidate. It will spare Dan the drudgery of doing the consolidation and also protect him from the tidal wave of bitching and moaning that would no doubt flood the board.

My humble suggestion, Save Continental, is that you just ignore the threads that annoy you. As long as they follow the rules, they all have a right to post here, whether we agree with them or not.

Of course they have a right. I don't even disagree with most of them. As far as the nitwit comment, that was directed at a couple posters who I am convinced are not even fans of the program.

Nothing in this board annoys me. I do not take it seriously. My suggestion was nothing but putting some lipstick on the board. Same goes for the myriad of positive posts that are up after a win.

I thought the injury problems under the basket near our bench at The Rock was because of the music on WSOU. Or was that due to something else.

My oh my, we have so much against us as a BBall program and institution... 1) Piratecrew.com, 2) Devil Music on WSOU... Anything else?

Monitoring the board can be near impossible. Especially when the team is not performing well. Whatever Tom and I do upsets a good portion of our fan base (you should read some of the emails I get) so best to just ride out the tide. Eventually a good period follows a bad one and everything goes back to normal.

As good as the board was until mid Jan that's how bad it is now. You take the good with the bad. But in the last 9 years there sure has been an awful lot of bad.

Well, Temple went to an exclusively pay board a year or two ago, and now has about 10 posters. Sure, they're very active and passionate, but there are 10 of them.
