Here's a free glimpse as posted by steelersrule125 on the Trove. Adam is one of our best contributors as he has his finger on the pulse of college recruiting.

2019
SHU is still recruiting a bit for 2019, seems to be looking for a shooter. Recently offered JUCO SG/SF Jonah Antonio, who is billed as a sharp-shooting 6'5 wing. Shooting 45/44/76 at South Plains JUCO this year and would have 2 years of eligibility left

2020
SHU is very well positioned right now for some big time recruits. I will summarize each known target below.
  • Noah Farrakhan - 6'1 PG from NJ - 4-star recruit #55 in the country - Was at SHU for the Nova game. SHU is making a move but his recruitment is still wide open. Originally from Newark but plays at IMG in Florida. One of the premiere PGs in the country
  • Darrius Maddox - 6'4 SG from DC - 4-star recruit #73 in the country - Tony Skinn recruit and SHU is a heavy favorite right now. One of the premiere scorers in the nation
  • Posh Alexander - 6'0 PG/SG from NYC - 4-star recruit #76 in the country - Duane Woodard recruit and SHU is a huge favorite right now. Would be stunned if he ends up elsewhere
  • CJ Wilcher - 6'5 SG from NJ - 4 star recruit #94 in the country - Visited SHU each of the last two games. One of the premiere scorers/shooters in the class of 2020. Cincinnati, Providence and the Johnnies are also positioned well. Duane Woodard recruit
  • Darius Miles - 6'3 SG from DC - 4-star recruit #112 in the country - Was at SHU for the Nova game. Tony Skinn recruit. Probably a plan B guy right now but can play
  • RJ Davis - 6'0 CG from NY - 3-star recruit #198 in the country (4-star by 247) - SHU is in the mix and probably the front-runner if they pushed for a commitment
  • Jabri Abdur-Rahim - 6'6 SG/SF from NJ - 4-star recruit #58 in the country - Visited SHU on Wednesday for the Marquette game and SHU is pushing hard of late. Michigan, Georgia and Harvard are serious threats as well
  • Earl Timberlake - 6'6 SG/SF from MD - 4-star recruit #39 in the country - Tony Skinn recruit. SHU is heavily involved but the competition is stiff. Elite scorer with enormous upside as an elite two way player
  • ELijah Hutchins-Everett - 6'10 C from NJ - 4-star recruit #64 in the country - SHU is in the mix but it's early for him. Competition is going to be steep. Does SHU need a true center next year? Would have 4 on the roster the following year if Brodie stuck around
  • Justin Lewis - 6'7" SF/PF from MD - 4-star recruit #130 in the country - Tony Skinn recruit. SHU is working hard but probably a longshot at this point
  • Ace Baldwin - 6'0 PG from MD - 3-star recruit #162 in the country - Tony Skinn recruit. SHU is in the mix here but his stock has fallen in the past 6 months
  • Donte Houston - 6'8 SF/PF from Texas - Recent offer courtesy of Tony Skinn. Described to me by a scout as "Big, strong physical 4 man with an evolving offensive game. Can stretch the floor a bit but still needs to improve as a jump shooter. Great defender and big time shot blocker. Probably will have a huge summer on the trail. Back end 150-200 kid right now with upside to rise over time. High major player that probably won't ever be a star but a valuable piece on a winning team"

With steelersrule125 and Fishjam added to our hiring of JP Pelzman the Trove not only helps keep this free site alive but it offers the serious SHU fan a great inside look at SHU basketball.

Those three have greatly aided Tom and myself with regard to posting pertinent info on SHU basketball. We owe them a debt of thanks.

Artie will be writing for the Trove next season. He deserves a ton of credit for telling me that Rhoden would be our top recruit after I was told by insiders it would be Nelson.

He has a great eye for talent.

its an interesting debate that isnt really worth it to bring up, but im not sure thats true. i think its much tougher for a freshman PG to thrive in willards system that essentially gives them no tools to utilize. also outside of last week rhodens minutes were not very good at all. I keep thinking of nelson stepping up on that first play of overtime vs Kentucky when i surely thought we were doomed. That win is what is propelling us into the tournement.

If we can get Maddox, Alexander, Timberlake, and Hutchins-Everett that would be an amazing group! Lol

I guess Cliff Omoruyi C 59th ranked recruit, Myles Stute SF 115th ranked recruit, Woody Nelson PG 78th ranked recruit, Anthony Thomas SF 147th ranked recruit, and Che Evans SF 134 ranked recruit are not likely in the equation for 2020.

Either way if we get 2 top 100 players in the 2020 class, I will be happy. We need a ballhandler, shooter and strong wing.

2020 list looks incredible! What about Adrian Griffin's son? How many 'ships will be open for 2020? How many should we expect KW to close?

I think we finish the 2019 class with the Aussie Juco and maybe a sit-out trasnfer depending on how things shake out.

For 2020 my top 4 most likely are:
  • Darrius Maddox
  • Posh Alexander
  • RJ Davis
  • Ace Baldwin
KEY is getting one of these guys early !

The Aussie JUCO was also offered by Florida, Nevada among others. No lock there.

My top 3 are one of Maddox, Posh, Noah for CG. Should be doable

One of CJ, Jabri, Timberlake. Very tough but want to stay optimistic.

A good friend of mine who is very plugged into the HS basketball scene is max long Posh Alexander. He was absolutely gushing over him and said if he comitted to Seton Hall he would instantly get season tickets (He is not even a SHU fan) Compared him to a young Russell Westbrook. I certainly hope the original poster of this thread who said we are the strong favorite is right!

I like Posh a lot, reminds me a lot of McClung the GT Frosh; big time athlete who needs to improve is overall game to max his potential.

Posh getting hurt could help us because of a lot of people backed off, but the staff needs to figure out what their plan will be so we dont get left holding the bag like years past.

Also a small 2G who is not really a point. Losing a year has to hurt him in that respect.

Just based on the videos, Timberlake looks so polished and smooth. He’s impressive.

Wilcher has a bit of an unorthodox shot and more husky than I would have figured.

Davis looks to have a pretty good handle.

Best summary of recruits that I have ever seen.
What I hope, but would have to see it to believe it, is an end to the last minute $woon of recruits that SHU was heavily favored for. With the FBI cracking down on payoffs to recruits or to get your kids into a school, I’m hoping the playing field will be more level.

Great analysis of where we stand and thanks to Dan for posting the information. Having had a long history of seeing players where we were the favorite go elsewhere I'll wait until the player commits and signs his LOI before celebrating. Having said that however I am more optimistic that we will land a couple of players we've the favorite for then I have been in a extended period of time.

Do we want 2019 James Bishop (after he renegs on LSU when Wade is fired) or 2019 Nate Piere-Louis (who just opened up after UNLV fires Menzies)?

Wilcher is a sniper who has a lot of natural strength and will benefit from college strength and conditioning. He has moxy, plays with intensity and has NBA range - sound like anyone we know?

This was last season as a sophomore.
