The math on the stat was posted incorrectly by the BY original poster. It's 4-16 over the last 20 years. But it wasn't conference openers It was going 2-0 in the conference. It surprised me as well, even though that includes the Ollie years, which weren't particularly great after the championship season.

Used to post on the Boneyard. Liked it. Just read a bit of the thread about our game. Most guys were fair and gave us credit, some blamed the refs, like some of us often do. One thing about those guys. They have seen a helluva lot of good hoops since Jimmy C came to town.

The oldest message board complaint in the book - the refs were bad because of the free throw disparity. Well, when one team takes it to the basket all game, and the other shoots 3’s, guess what.
