I will say up front that I could be reading into this too much b/c of my annoyance with ESPN's presentation of the sport as a whole, their treatment of the Big East post-split & the bias/favoritism of alot of their color guys/analysts.

That being said, I find it hilarious the way these guys have been presenting the topsy-turvy nature of the season thus far. There have been so many upsets so far. No team has really put itself a few places ahead of everyone else. Kentucky is down. Duke is down.

Their go-to line is "there are alot of good teams, there are no great teams". They say this as if it's a bad thing! It's like they are sad that the typical blue bloods aren't destroying everyone like usual. I feel like they are so cozy with the typical top 6-10 teams nationally that the fact that anything can happen in alot of these games is bumming them out. They aren't describing with any excitement how unpredictable this year's NCAA tourney might end up being. They just keep pointing out how no one is "great". Good! That makes for a more fun season! It's really sad how they act. I know I can't wait to see the blue bloods go down in March. This year has the best chance of that happening in a while.

Parity is a great thing for college basketball fans. It is not a great thing for a network that has converted its college basketball coverage into a season-long referendum on who will be the best player in next year's NBA draft.

There are no great teams makes college basketball that much more exciting. I will say Kansas is probably the best team in the country tho

I actually think some losses for the Kentuckys and Dukes of the world benefit them; sometimes when you run right through a schedule, and barely face adversity, it can come back to bite you in the tournament....when you are bound to be challenged...and likely more than once. Kentucky has had clearly the best team year after year....yet they havent brought home the big prize every year. Tough to do when you win seemingly by simply showing up....which, was the case a lot of times.

So, I wouldn't count the "blue bloods" out simply because they are losing a few games now...but I do share in your delight is seeing them go down...!

Snore on ESPN for me. No big east, no hockey, not watching. It pains me to have to watch MNF when the Giants are playing.
