Game/Date added to schedule

Wow. Let me get my calendar clear for that one.
Can't we just once read info regarding the team without criticizing it.

The hatred toward a program we all profess to love is reaching embarrassing levels.

I get it, few here like our head coach. But must that taint every tidbit of information offered??!!

Dan, is this in lieu of the Brooklyn game we were trying to put together, or does that possibility still exist? I really enjoyed going there a couple of years ago, and the restaurant/bar scene by the arena just keeps getting better.

Hoping to get an answer from Pat Lyons who we just interviewed for the Trove Wednesday.

I haven't seen my writer's story yet but that was one of the questions I proposed he ask.

Dan, I think (at least in my case, and not to speak for others) is to make some light of the situation and show some irreverent humor. Seriously, what kind of response would be appropriate for adding Wagner? We all have too much time on our hands...lol

My reaction is I wish they had the nerve to schedule Manhattan or Iona.

Want no part of Manhattan.

Don't think my eyes could survive this if we play a H/H.

We had 3 or 4 openings left so no problem with a cupcake or 2. Only problem with Wagner is a sunday during nfl season.

Prior to the formation of the Big East, Wagner, LIU, Manhattan, Iona, Army, St Pete's, St Johns. were all on the schedule every year. The same with Nova and to a lesser extent Niagara, BC and the Bonnies. So there is some history with these teams.

And we can lose to any lower conf team.. St Peter's, FDU two seasons ago. Take nothing for granted . We are so very far away from being a good program.

I would like to see SHU play at least two non-tourney games a year versus A-10 schools. Its a good league, and given the location of many of its teams, fans from both schools would be able to make many of the trips.

Wagner is a good opener and will be used as a tune-up for the Charleston tournament. Don't want the first game of the season to be in that tournament.

There is no way in hell we should be giving Manhattan and the like home and homes! High major teams in high major conferences just do not do that! Why the hell do you think we'd ever have to play at their place if we ever agreed to play them?

We need to greatly improve our OOC schedule. Scheduling schools like Wagner, Iona, Rutgers and LIU do nothing for our RPI, experience or to prepare us for the Big East. Win and you are supposed to, lose and it's a bad loss. Fattening up on cupcakes does nothing for us come tournament time because the committee want to see what you can do against real teams. One or two cupcakes fine but not an entire OOC slate.

Not sure I agree with this. The hatred toward Willard is so strong that many here are being blinded by the fact there is good talent on this team.

We're not world beaters but we're also not as bad as many believe. Teams like St Peters, Wagner etc have no chance of beating the Hall next season. Nor should they.

In league play anything can happen. Especially with a team that is going to be projected lower middle of the pack. So yes we can lose to a team predicted to be below us. But we also can upset a team or teams rated higher.

We should be playing Iona every year. They have been a top 100 RPI team the last 5 years. New Rochelle is an hour away. We all know the real reason why that will never happen though.

Dan
I think most here recognize that there is talent on this team but just not enough of it especially at the power positions

I just don't understand why we can't get home games against Iona, Manhattan, Princeton, or Temple. Again, I'm not for home and home unless its a power school.
