This will only motivate them.Stunning conclusion to that game. I'm still in shock. Hopefully this kills Creighton's confidence heading into Saturday's game.
Please stuff a sock in it.time to move JT3 ahead of McBuckets St in the coach of the year discussion?
This will only motivate them.
+1...playing much better and those bad losses in the OOC becoming a distant memory.Time to have a little respect for Georgetown, too. I know and understand the knocks against them, but they're 6-2 in the Big East now. That doesn't happen by accident.
Creighton lost most of the team from last year. That's why they're so surprising this year. Playing in Omaha is tough enough without Creighton having a foul taste in their mouths. It might, but it's not a sure thing. They were awful in close games last year. Those thoughts could creep back in.

I said early they can win the bet. If they play their best they are terrific.Time to have a little respect for Georgetown, too. I know and understand the knocks against them, but they're 6-2 in the Big East now. That doesn't happen by accident.
They're playing SH at their home pit. They're shaking in their sneakers. They will be motivated, count on it. They know they're chances of waltzing requires a W on Saturday.Creighton's confidence is some shaken..that's good for us.
One thing that caught my eye was Khyri Thomas, a 46% FT shooter, ended up with the ball and got fouled with about 20 ticks left. CU up 1, he missed both of course. My guess is he was in there for defensive reasons on the previous GT possession. CU could have used a timeout to get him off the floor, but perhaps didn't want to risk an inbounds.A major flaw with Creighton in the last two years is finishing down the stretch. That really plagued them last season and sure as hell did last night.
The question is where does the blame lie. With the coach? With the players? Both?
The easy answer is on the bench. And if McDermott has had a long history of that then the criticism is deserved. If he doesn't (don't have time to look it up) then I would look more at the players on the team these last two seasons. After all, a coach can only do so much. The players have to execute and that hasn't been the case for this Creighton team.
