Giants Another Meltdown

So Gettleman gets to manage these trades despite being on the hot seat? Maybe the seat isn't as hot as outsiders thing. Odd situation created by John Mara.

It's Gettleman's job until it's not. If you've decided to sell off parts to continue the rebuild, someone has to oversee it. You would hope Judge and the coordinators have input as well as someone else in the front office.

I'd imagine most of what you're going to see is plug and play as the return is probably not going to net more than a late round draft pick. If they're lucky maybe two picks if a team is desperate enough to make a deal and it's a younger player with some potential.

If, hypothetically speaking, Gettleman decided to move on from Jones, that's a move that would certainly need to be cleared with ownership. There might not be five guys on the roster that applies to however.

in terms of losing, yea that sucks but theyre fighting and trying. seems like judge has instilled the right mindset. this is not a gase jets situation where the team doesnt even show up. it will make the winning that much better when they get over the hill.

the big issue as you mentioned is not blowing so many 1st rd picks. at this point they should make a list of guys they like, throw it out, and then take someone another team wants LOL.

Agreed.

After the Giants went up 21-10, Nate Ebner was put in on defense and was immediately thrown at, dropping an EASY INT of Wentz. On the next play, Ryan Lewis commits a dumb defensive penalty that negated a BJ Hill sack and gave the Eagles a 1D instead of 3D & 15. Then on the 3rd play, Lewis was beat for the 60-yard pass play with 5:30 left up 11, the same way he was beat like a drum on the Cowboy's final drive two weeks ago. Literally the one thing you cannot do, do not allow a player deep late.

Are these guys going to be playing in these spots when the roster is good enough to win? No. Certain players are targeted in situations. That was supposed to be their 1st Round pick DeAndre Baker and, well, um...

Does anyone really know what’s going on with the Giants and how the organization is being run or who is making the player personnel decisions and what role Mara and/or Tisch have in that process ? There are two theories floating around in which in one scenario the Giants are giving Gettleman enough rope to hang himself with . The second theory is that ownership has made a decision on Gettleman’s future with the Giants and it’s unclear whether he’s gone after this year or he’ll get a fourth year.

Stay tuned to the continuing drama , “ Life as a Giant Fan “ .

Here’s the latest stats from PFF on lowest QB pressures from First year OT’s :
Becton - Jets 4.8
Wirfs - Bucs 5.1
Wills - Browns 5.2
Jackson - Dolphins 7.2
Thomas - Giants 14.2

Still too early to write Thomas off but the argument that the pandemic practice / preseason has hindered his development were also in place for the other 4 first round picks as well who have produced better results then Thomas .

Maybe that is true about the hot seat. But, the GM has been all over the place and if he does go you have a new GM who could be in the position of having to keep a coach who has the W-L record of Hue Jackson. Not good.

Now the Giants are under scrutiny bc evidently Jones, Barkley and others were out partying Friday night.

If Judge had any balls he would have cut Lewis. Bellichek would have so would have Jimmy Johnson.
