INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – Senior Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) was selected with an at large bid to the NCAA West Lafayette Regional as the No. 5 individual seed on Thursday.

It's the second straight year that Go has been selected for the NCAA's marquee event. Last year, he was an automatic selection after winning the4 2016 BIG EAST individual title. This year, he was chosen with an at large bid based on his success throughout the 2016-17 year.

The Pirates' top golfer will play among 10 other individuals and 13 teams on the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex's Kampen Couse in West Lafayette, Ind., May 15-17. The Regional is being hosted by Purdue University.

Go is capping his extraordinary collegiate career with arguably the greatest single-year effort in Seton Hall history. Named BIG EAST Golfer of the Week three times this year, he currently maintains a 70.82 stroke average, which is the lowest for a single-year in program history. Most recently, Go tied as the runner-up at the 2017 BIG EAST Championship and led the conference in stroke average this year. In 10 tournaments in 2016-17, he recorded eight top-10 finishes and seven top-5 finishes.

Go had five tournaments in which he shot under-par and 16 sub-par rounds this year. Among those tournaments, he broke the Seton Hall par-72, three-round score with an 11-under-par, 205, at the Loyola Intercollegiate, and the par-72, two-round score with a 6-under-par, 138, at the Hartford Hawks Invitational. Go's 7-under-par, 203, at The Doc Gimmler set the Pirates' record for lowest par-70, three-round score. He also recorded his third career victory with a 9-under-par, 204, at the Princeton Invitational this spring.

Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 15-17. Thirteen teams and ten individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals, while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

Last year, Go finished third among the 10 individual golfers at the Kohler Regional in Milwaukee, Wis.

Team and individual medalist titles will be decided May 26-31 at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Ill. The Northern Illinois University is the host institution for the 2017 championships.
