After 18 holes, Go is tied for 37th place overall among 75 golfers at the Regional. .

Tournament Details:
2017 WEST LAFAYETTE REGIONAL
Host:
Purdue University
Location: West Lafayette, Ind.
Course: Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex – Kampen Course
Details: Par-72, 7,411 yards
Dates: May 15-17, 2017, Three Rounds

The Course:
The Kampen Course is a unique links-style layout with strategically placed waste bunkers, native grasslands, man-made wetlands and large greens. Measuring over 7,400 yards from the championship tees and just over 5,000 from the forward tees, it's a true test of golf for all players. Difficulty exponentially increases as the tee-choice moves back so great emphasis should be placed on the proper set of tees to play.

The Kampen Course, a Pete Dye design, is an 18-hole, links-style, par-72 championship golf course featuring large bent-grass greens, fairways and tees. The layout presents a challenge for golfers of all abilities with vast sand bunkers, native grasslands, ponds and a natural celery bog. Kampen offers five sets of tees with the championship tees playing over 7,400 yards and the forward tees playing at 5,300 yards.

Kampen is rated one of the top collegiate courses in the nation and has been awarded 4.5 stars on Golf Digest's "Places to Play." Kampen receives high marks as it is ranked as one of the most difficult golf courses in Indiana. The course has also played host to a number of prestigious collegiate and public tournaments such as the 2000 Men's Big Ten Championship, the 2003 Women's NCAA Championship, the 2004 Indiana Open, the 2005 Women's Western Amateur, and the 2008 Men's NCAA Championship.

The Field:
The full field of competitors at the West Lafayette Regional consist of 13 teams and 10 individuals. For Go's sake, he needs to be the top individual golfer not on one of the five teams that advances to the National Championship. That top individual will also advance.

GO LOGS 76 IN WEST LAFAYETTE REGIONAL SECOND ROUND

Story Links
WEST LAFAYETTE, IND. – Senior Lloyd Jefferson Go (Guadalupe Cebu City, Philippines) shot a 4-over-par, 76, in round two of the 2017 West Lafayette NCAA Regional on Tuesday.

Go had difficulty on two holes, otherwise his round would have scored much lower. The two-time BIG EAST Golfer of the Year double-bogeyed the par-3, second hole and the par-4, 12th hole. Those two holes aside, Go was even-par for the day, notching birdies on holes No. 4, No. 7 and No. 15.

Through two rounds, Go is 7-over-par with a 75-76-151. He is tied for 42nd place among 75 individual golfers. The individual leader is Illinois State's Trent Wallace, who is 6-under-par.

In order for Go to advance to the National Championship, Go needs to be the top individual golfer that is not a member of the five teams advancing. Wallace, like Go, is competing on his own at West Lafayette. Therefore, at the very least, Go needs to try to catch Wallace in the standings on the final day.
