I see threads below applauding Whitehead and Carrington. Gordon is just as important. He steadied things tonight, esp when it was much needed in the first half. He needs to get as many minutes as anyone. Arguably, his start vs. Providence after the Creighton debacle could turn out to be the turning point of the season.

Think of his role vs. Gibbs's.

Gordon was terrific. He is so crafty inside and so tough defensively. Great game last night for Derrick. And I love how he goes after rebounds.

Maybe his best game as a Pirate. And he knew it. Very, very modest in the post game, but you could look in his eyes as he was answering questions and see he knew what he did last night on both sides of the court.

Just a great kid. Gonna miss him next year.

I wonder if Gordon has any interest in coaching. Would be great to have him stick with this group.

I was thinking last night about what a nightmare he must have been in HS with only HS centers around to try to stop him. He is so tough and so cagey. Uses the slight hesitation or burst, the extra dribble and he gets off his shot point blank. A few of his shots last night were so terrific.

I don't think what Gordon has brought to this team is lost on anyone. Without question will end up being the unsung hero on this seasons squad when all is said and done.
