Tough weekend for the SHU Volleyball team at Louisville. They lost 3 matches
to Ohio, Louisville and then Utah.
They competed very well against Ohio U, competing well against a borderline top 25 team. They
once again struggled in the early Saturday morning match against Louisville and were handled easily. The
real shame was losing to Utah in 5 games. After losing the first game they came back and won the 2nd and 3rd games. The 4th game had The Pirates leading 18-15, but they were not able to put the match away after holding the lead. Utah won the 5th game and the match.
You'd think if these matches were held later in the season the gals might have had better results. Right now it's a case of growing pains and trying to replace an All-time SHU great in Manthorpe.
They need to improve and get better by the BigEast Season. The goal should be to qualify for the conference tournament and be one of the top 4 teams in league play.
