The Tip:Sophomore Desi Rodriguez (Bronx, N.Y.) poured in a career-high 18 points on Friday as the Seton Hall men's basketball team returned to the win column with a 67-59 victory over Bradley at the Gildan Charleston Classic.

The result earned the Pirates (3-1) a date with an SEC opponent in Ole Miss (3-1) to close the trip to the tournament.

Khadeen Carrington (Brooklyn, N.Y.) continued to shoulder the offensive load down the stretch for The Hall, scprong 10 of his 14 points in the second half against the Braves and combining with senior Derrick Gordon (Plainfield, N.J.) to score 19 of SHU's 33 points in the frame.

Angel Delgado (Bajos De Haina, Dominican Republic) hauled in eight of his game-high nine rebounds in the final frame to help seal the win.

Another triumph on Sunday would assure that head coach Kevin Willard and the Pirates will finish with at least one non-conference victory over a "Power 5" opponent for the sixth consecutive season.

All-Time Series:The Hall and Ole Miss will face off for the first time ever on the hardwood

Pirate Points:

- Sophomore Desi Rodriguez led the Pirates with 18 points as The Hall got back in the win column with a 67-59 victory over Bradley Friday. The 18 points represented a new career-high for Rodriguez who also recorded the first solo team-leading scoring performance of his career on the night. Through four games, the Bronx native is shooting nearly 60 percent from the floor (19-32, .594) and 50 percent from downtown (5-10). By comparison, it took until the 10th appearance of his freshman season for Rodriguez to record his 19th field goal (at USF, 12/14) and the 6-foot-6 forward shot just 1-for-12 from deep in his debut season

- Fellow sophomore Khadeen Carrington helped carry the load for The Hall in the second half against the Braves with backcourt running-mate Isaiah Whitehead out of the lineup. Carrington scored 10 of his 14 points in the final period, marking the third time in four appearances this season that he has recorded 10+ points after halftime. In two games at the Charleston Classic prior to the meeting with the Rebels, 22 of Carrington’s 29 points at the tournament have come in the second half

- Senior Derrick Gordon was a tremendous steadying force for the Pirates in the 2nd half against Bradley as well, recording every one of his nine points in the period while playing all 20 minutes. Gordon joined The Hall prior to the season after starting all 100 games of his career between Western Kentucky and UMass and has thrived in his role as the first man off the bench, scoring nine or more points in all four games (10.8 ppg) while ranking second on the squad with 12 assists

- With Carrington and Gordon in the backcourt down the stretch, the Pirates finished with 11 turnovers for the second consecutive game after recording 20+ giveaways in each of their first two against Dartmouth and Wagner. The Hall has totaled 12 turnovers or less in 10 of its 18 victories since the beginning of last season and have won the turnover battle in 11 of those contests

- Freshman Veer Singh (New York, N.Y.) provided some offensive support off the bench in the first half against Bradley, knocking down two treys to record the first points of his collegiate career. A noted sharpshooter who was rated a four-star recruit by ESPN, Singh joined Gordon and Michael Nzei as Pirates who have scored 6+ points off the bench this season. The trio has combined to account for seven such efforts with four belonging to Gordon

- The Pirates win over Bradley was the second consecutive win that The Hall has scored without ever trailing after leading wire-to-wire against Wagner. Seton Hall also mostly played from in front in a season opening triumph over Dartmouth and has trailed for a total of 2:55 in its three victories

- SHU and Mississippi will be meeting for the first time in the history of the respective programs and the matchup sets up a stretch of two consecutive games against SEC opponents for The Hall who will return home to host Georgia on Saturday, November 28. SHU has now squared off with at least one SEC opponent in five of its six seasons under Kevin Willard; highlighted by an 81-59 victory over Auburn at home in a 21-win 2011-12 campaign. The Pirates also ousted Alabama (83-78) in the first round of the 2010 Paradise Jam and have also met Arkansas, UGA and LSU away from home under Willard - twice falling by less than 10 points

- Seton Hall has not shied away from running into high major foes during the non-conference portion of its schedule under Willard. A victory over Mississippi would assure the Pirates at least one victory over a “Power 5” school for the sixth-straight season as Willard has guided The Hall to non-league wins over Wake Forest (twice), Virginia Tech and Rutgers in addition to the wins over Alabama and Auburn

- The Pirates have attended four traditional eight-team tournaments in six years under Willard, making two visits apiece to the Charleston Classic and Paradise Jam. SHU has won at least one game in all four and a victory over the Rebels would give the program at least two victories for the third time in those trips

Scouting Ole Miss- 10th-year head coach Andy Kennedy has quietly built a powerhouse in Oxford as Ole Miss joins Kentucky and Florida as the only SEC priograms to appear in two of the last three NCAA Tournaments and post seven 20+ win seasons in the last nine years

- The Rebels fell to George Mason (68-62) in the opening round but rebounded to Race past Towson behind 30 points from senior guard Stefan Moody in a 76-60 win Friday

- Moody, a Preseason First Team All-SEC selection, led the conference with 18.6 ppg in league play as a junior

- 6-foot-9 Spanish forward Sebastian Saiz recorded two double-doubles in wins over Northwestern State and Georgia Southern to open the year while 6-foot-7 freshman Marcanvis Hymon is coming off a 20-point, nine-rebound showing in which he shot 10-of-11 from the field

- Ole Miss is shooting just 29.8 percent from deep as a team with Moody (11-of-29, .379) and Rasheed Brooks (6-of-11, .545) standing as the only players with more than three treys in the first four games. Brooks has twice knocked down three in a single game, including a 3-of-5 effort against Towson

- The Rebels are also allowing over 12 offensive rebounds per game but finished with a +10 advantage on the boards against Towsioon after jumping out to a 22-point halftime lead by shooting 74.1 percent (20-of-27) from the floor in the first half
