Spoke to my local recruiting source and got a few updates. Nothing earth shattering but here it is
1. Coach Skinn has made some initial introductions with local coaches (HS and AAU) and he has been very well received thus far. While I don't think his focus will ever be NJ/NYC (especially if Artie/Dan's hints about adding an NYC recruiter are true), I think here and there he could be an asset helping Grant and the new coach with these kids.
2. At this moment, Aundre Hyatt is leaning ever so slightly towards reclassifying to 2018 and if he does choose to do that, Seton Hall, Rutgers, LSU, Florida State or Virginia Tech would be his college barring a heavy change. Source believes if he comes to 2018, Seton Hall has as good of a chance as anyone, whereas if he stays in 2019, it will be a very big task to land him.
3. Al-Amir Dawes is a mid-major player as of now and no longer a guy the SHU staff is focusing on. That has caused me to change my crystal ball to foggy for Dawes (system is broken but once it's fixed I will log that pick on 247)
4. Focus for 2019 for SHU is on landing a point and a wing that can score the rock but I think we could all tell that from looking at where the offers are being issued.
5. Was told that SHU is quietly scouting a player that he described to me as a "dynamic, very talented, under the radar" 2019 pure PG who my guy thought could blow up this summer and SHU may get in on first. For some reason he wouldn't give me a name even off the record, which made no sense to me, so take that for what it's worth but figured I'd share. Normally a guy like this would give me a name and then tell me to go promote the player so I found it strange.
