The WHO had announced herd immunity for COVID 19 even with the vaccine will not be met in 2021. Per the WHO social distancing regulations should be kept by countries through at least of end this year and people will be wearing masks for "years to come". Based on this advice from the WHO it appears predictions from posters on here that we will have a "maskless" "normal" summer in 2021 will be incorrect.

Well, duh... There are 7.5 billion people in the world.
We are not going to vaccinate 70% of the world this year.

Has nothing to do with what my opinion on what the US will look like over the summer.

You don't think it will? I thought the expectation is for the Biden Administration to follow the WHO's guidelines? And that recommendation is for countries to enforce social distancing at least for the rest of the year and to wear masks for years to come.

Percent vaccinated in America compared to the percent of the world will be quite different.

"If COVID-19 is spreading in your community, stay safe by taking some simple precautions, such as physical distancing, wearing a mask, keeping rooms well ventilated, avoiding crowds, cleaning your hands, and coughing into a bent elbow or tissue. Check local advice where you live and work. "

^ that is from the WHO. Perfectly reasonable and when Covid is not longer spreading in the community then the circumstances change.

I understand the WHO is also coming out with an important statement. Ice is frozen! You heard it here first!

Auditor what do u think of the commercials explicitly telling people to “get tested frequently”?

So I'm assuming you get tested frequently?

I've been tested 4 times. If I were out and about more, I would get tested more but my personal risk of infecting others is pretty low as we don't really go anywhere and my kids have been virtual.

They actually go back next week so we will not be seeing their grandparents until they have had a chance to be vaccinated unless we get tested before seeing them.

Ok good to know! Thank you!

As you now I haven't been out of the house since March 2020. I have never got tested since I don't go out of the house.

No reason to get tested if you aren't sick.

None other than ensuring that you aren't potentially infected and infecting others, sure.
How can you possibly still believe that this doesn't spread from people without symptoms?

Getting vaccinated doesn’t mean you don’t get it or carry. It’s like a flu shot.

your schtick is a tad old although was funny at times. It takes away from some good points you make. We get your point: the government intends to shut us down as part of a power grab

Huh? I just brought up not leaving my house since last March. That's a fact lol.

We will of course look watch how effective it is as people get vaccinated, but it is quite different than a flu shot as it is a targeted vaccine to a specific virus. Flu shots are best guesses on which strains of the the flu will hit the US and don't have close to the efficacy that the vaccine apparently has. There are certain people in my family who would be more at risk if they got it. We will manage the risks and once we have been vaccinated the risk will be lower. Not expecting the elimination of risk, just getting it to a better threshold for us.
