Source: Xavier will host Seton Hall at the Cintas Center on Saturday, December 23rd. So in December, the Pirates will host UConn Dec 20th and then travel to Xavier for Big East play. So much for the holiday cheer!
But…Hard to argue with.Sounds like learned a lot from KW!
TV drives scheduling to a large degreeIt’s completely counterproductive and unfair to all of the conference members to schedule marquee conference games during winter break, whether that goes for us or Xavier which hosts two days before Christmas. I don’t understand why they don’t start the conference schedule the first two weeks in December then take a break until the first week of January, with games taking place over the holidays featuring OOC or neutral site games (like Mizzou, St. Peter’s, etc).
In fairness, I would wager that the conference doesn't view this as a marquee conference game. Someone has to play a game in this type of slot and frankly we are predicted to be a bottom third conference team. It’s completely counterproductive and unfair to all of the conference members to schedule marquee conference games during winter break, whether that goes for us or Xavier which hosts two days before Christmas. UConn at home is a marquee game for us if not them or the BE.UConn @ Seton Hall and Seton Hall @ Xavier are not marquee conference games this season.

When is Willard gonna stop complaining about the schedule. Oh, wait…
We are the top 3rd’s cupcake games. Just keep making fun of DePaul… we’re right there. In fairness, I would wager that the conference doesn't view this as a marquee conference game. Someone has to play a game in this type of slot and frankly we are predicted to be a bottom third conference team.
I'm not sure it's quite that simple. It’s completely counterproductive and unfair to all of the conference members to schedule marquee conference games during winter break, whether that goes for us or Xavier which hosts two days before Christmas.
