Amy Klobucher, probably the most qualified and competent VP female candidate, withdraws, because it's time for a woman of color to be considered. Taking identity politics to a new level. Wow.

All to appease people in the short term with zero consideration for what's best over the long term.

Kamala Harris and Susan Rice now fighting for the top spot.

Yikes. Klobuchar was really good, I would of voted for her over Trump before all this mayhem erupted. It's sad that the Dems will try to throw Stacey Abrams or Kamala Harris as the VP because of the color of their skin, they're both morons.

AS is Susan Rice, one of the most corrupt Obama appointments.

Decent chance, and would be a better pick than those mentioned in this thread in my opinion.

I don’t like her policies but she is much more qualified to run the country should Biden not remember where is.

Wouldn’t Harris’ own words be used to slam Biden?

Wouldn’t Rice’s despicable Benghazi actions really hurt Biden?

I think Harris’s comments can be overcome fairly easily. Not a huge problem there. I just don’t think she adds much to the ticket. She ran a horrible campaign and was bad at the debates.

Susan Rice for me is a non-starter due to Benghazi. No reason to bring that conversation into this election.

Klobuchar seemed like she would have made a lot of sense politically but her history with Derek Chauvin killed her chances of being picked. Really don’t like her saying it should be a woman of color which opens Biden up to criticism if he doesn’t go that route.

But the democrats only know identity politics now. Everything is race, gender or sexuality.

I don’t get the Harris pick. California is in the bag, her record is lacking, she ran a terrible campaign and she’s pretty unlikable. Dumb strategy by Biden to box himself in this way with a weak bench of candidates that fit the bill.

Kamala Harris is a good choice because she is very good on her feet. However, I agree that California is in the bag. That is why I think the smart choice would be Congresswoman Val Demmings who is black and a former Chief of Police in Orlando. The law enforcement aspect of her career is important. If Biden can win Florida, Trump then would have to win all the battleground states which to me seems to be impossible.

I agree, Val Demmings or similar would be a good pick. Add in the "less baggage" factor.

Why would her words matter. Any repub with a brain or a set has spoken on the
disgrace America elected. Maybe Biden can blame it on fox making it up. That seems to work, at least for about 40 percent of us.

Deciding you are picking a woman is fine. Announcing it is foolish.

Susan Rice seems like the obvious choice to me. She is more qualified than anyone else Biden is looking at and they worked together for a while so I would assume they get along well. Biden has said he is looking for someone he clicks with.

Personally, I'd pick Tammy Duckworth.
