How Far?

Like everyone else, I’m sure, I am ecstatic about this team. Their continued success has me wondering just how good they are, and just how far they can go.

IF they make the dance, are they capable of going to the Sweet 16 or Elite 8? (I dare not think further ).

My thought is Yes! Wondering what the rest of you guys are thinking.

I think it all depends on matchups. That's really what the NCAAs are about, even more than guard play. We could easily lose the first day, or stick around for a few games. Play the right matchups, catch a little luck and hit your free-throws, and we can get as far as the Elite 8.

A word of caution, though: Everyone turns up the defense come March, so that could mitigate our most defining team characteristic.

It's all based on match-ups and how they finish the season (and NCAA seed). With a great finish and as long as we don't match up with a team with a huge front line, they could get to the second weekend (Sweet 16). Getting to the Elite 8 is a bitch and it would be really difficult even with how much better they are playing.

The key is IW's continued progress and bringing the defense. He can carry a team through the first weekend and defense will always keep you in a game, even when you are cold.

If they continue to get better than yes. But as our recent past has shown, SHU is the last fan base that should look past the next game. 13 months ago we were discussing whether we were a 4th or 5th seed, and a few years prior we just had to beat DePaul.
This team does have the potential to do great things if they make it with a decent seed.
