Providence, R.I. – Seton Hall traveled to Providence on Saturday night for its second BIG EAST contest of the season, playing the Friars to a 2-2 draw. Quenzi Huerman (Vannes, France) found the back of the net twice to bring his season goal total to five.
How it Happened
Providence was able to strike first, as a 15th minute goal from Christopher Roman gave the Friars a 1-0 advantage. Despite the early Providence tally, the opening 45 minutes were evenly contested, with both sides generating healthy chances. The Pirates had two opportunities to score off free kicks from James Boote (Southampton, England) and Tomas Nunez (Longchamps, Argentina), however both were stopped by Friar goalkeeper Lukas Burns.
The Hall finally broke through late in the opening half. Huerman generated a turnover just outside the Pirate attacking third which led to an odd-man rush. Huerman dribbled into the penalty area and struck one with his left boot past Burns to level the match at 1-1.
Huerman did not wait long into the second half to find the back of the net again. In the 56th minute, Andrea Borg (Sliema, Malta) played a pass towards the box that led Huerman perfectly. The junior flicked it with his left foot past Burns to give Seton Hall a 2-1 advantage.
Seton Hall's defense did well to keep the Friars from equalizing, but in the 81st minute the hosts were able to break through. Luis Garcia was able to get one past Hannes Ronnholmen (Stockholm, Sweden) to tie things at 2-2.
