I am going to assume you are referring to Senatorial Courtesy. That happens when the US Senators essentially pick the US Attorney when the President and Senators are of the Same Party.
This does not happen when they are of different parties. As is the case here When the President nominates, the Senators only have to approve of the nomination with its advice and consult duties.
It happened in NJ when Bush was President and picked Christie. This was not the choice by Lautenberg and Menéndez. They just have to pass on the nomination which is routine unless there is something truly objectionable.

2. You are technically correct but neither of us is privy to the back room deals that are cut regarding these appointments. Just because he was appointed during Trump's presidency really shouldn't mean much. Justice should be blind and equal for all. Shouldn't it? Obviously in this case we are seeing that the scales were maybe..... tipped?. Anyone but a Biden probably would be doing hard time. And certainly it was a timely decision (after what..... how many years of investigation?????) enough ahead of the 2024 election for voters to overlook.

There are high profile cases in which similar crimes resulted in jail time.
The timing is related to the amount of attention being given to the Hunter Biden laptop and the recent disclosures about payments to Biden family LLC's, Biden's obvious knowledge of Hunter's business dealings, the House investigations and hearings on weaponization of Justice Dept., etc. any number of items .... all of this raises questions to objective people about the honesty of one Joe Biden and his DOJ. The timing of the charges, I believe, would be to try and diffuse some of those accusations (and factually documented assertions) . They would like the MSM reliant voting public to assume ... well Hunters not going to jail ... sooooo the rest of it must be bunk too.

you have no idea about the number of cases that result in jail time or how many are offered a plea deal.. let's just say he did get a sweet deal that many others would not have gotten. Of course you will retort.

Show examples of people who received jail time on a tax charge after working with investigators and not going to trial. Show examples of someone going to jail for having a gun and being a drug user. Not a gun used in a crime or anything but just having a gun.
I don't really care if he knew about his business dealings. It doesn't matter either way.
I would care if Joe took a bribe, or let Hunter's business dealings influence US policy.

Biden lied to get his gun license for one thing. He cut a deal with prosecutors not everyone gets that chance. Every case is different. My contention is he got a sweet deal and special treatment along the way. They also said the investigation is ongoing in an attempt to use "ongoing investigation" to dissuade further inquiries.

Why would a special counsel be needed? He was assigned this case from the Trump DOJ. Garland let him do his investigation without any interference. Weiss stated specifically that this was all his decisions. I mean you think there are little creatures around every corner.

With regard to everything g else you said it’s just you regurgitating right wing conspiracies. If Joe Biden took a bribe, I am pretty sure AG Barr would have investigated it. And if he took a bribe, he should be prosecuted. I’d be the first one to say it. But besides politicians trying to make points, not Barr nor David Weiss ever found a crime that Biden committed and they had the most to gain in finding it.

Your suppositions assume a doj that is totally honest and above board. There is enough evidence to support a strong possibility of the opposite..... thus the skepticism. When we first heard the word trillion instead of billion I knew we were all in trouble. One million millions takes corruption to a new level. Lots of millions buys lots of people. Media paid, FBI paid, justice paid, IRS paid, Friends and family paid, Congress paid, senate paid, money keeps flowing corruption keeps growing. Has a nice ring doesn’t it.
