If only

Not a single Big East player... sure we're not a mid-major?

I give mudaiy credit. He didn't go to college so that he could play in China. He rarely played there and when he played he wasn't really that great numbers wise. And still he is a high lottery pick.

I think the experience is unbeatable. Mudiay has now played against much more experienced players than Towns or Okafor, he's learned to live on his own in a foreign country, and he probably has a better sense of how to handle himself now that he has money (not saying he's mastered it). Just from purely an experience standpoint, I think the combination of those three things might make him more attractive of a target than Winslow or whoever else is projected in his general area; however, who knows if his skills are worthy of a lottery.

He only played 12 games, but averaged 18 points, 6 assists and 6 rebounds per game. Obviously I've never seen him but from what I've read and heard I'm hoping the Sixers don't pass on him. Of course I wanted them to take Exum last year too....

Id rather have russell than mudiay. cant mess up two ohio st lottery picks right?? Still hoping lakers take a guard and we can trade Okafor to the knicks for their next 1st rd pick when they have it in a billion more years.

Mudiay shot .574 from the FT line and .342 from 3pt. He has the body and athleticism, but basically he is being drafted purely on potential. He may turn into a great pro, but I wouldn't be surprised if he is a bust. There are just way too many NBA guards that are just as athletic and they understand the game.

Kind of funny we have all the Knick "rejects", Lee, Shumpert, Smith, playing in the NBA finals. It exemplifies the difference between Curry, James and Melo. Melo is just not anywhere near a star as the first two. Curry and James can take/overcome mediocre talent, make them better and get to the Finals. Melo couldn't even get the Knicks out of the basement with them.

Was David Lee bad on the Knicks? The most effective he has been is in short bursts off the bench. a perfect role for him. JR Smith is playing absolutely terrible and is an idiot. Shumpert is not anything special, but a good perimeter defender. GS has an entire team and Cavs are all Lebron. Of course Melo is nowhere near Lebron thats obvious.

But I would like to talk about Mozgov... hes a guy actually making a difference for the Cavs, ex knick as well.

Correct, I didn't mean to portray Lee as a bad player. He was actually one of the bright spots on a bad team and a very serviceable big man. Forgot that Mozgov was a Knick too. The point is that with Melo being "the man", that he couldn't make the Knicks a winning team with these guys who were all serviceable NBA players and are supporting members of the two finalists.

The biggest difference I see between LeBron and Melo, other than their styles of play, is their ability to lead. J.R Smith wrote an op-ed before the playoffs that made it pretty clear. Melo is one of the boys and doesn't hold anyone else on the team accountable. He tries to lead by his play on the court but is not vocal and does not demand excellence out of his teammates.

J.R said that from day one, LeBron demanded excellence and nothing else was acceptable. If you aren't working as hard as him you are replaceable and he makes that known. He cited one story, where J.R was struggling with his shot and told LeBron that he was gonna head to the gym the following morning to try and get it corrected. LeBron said okay, I will meet you at the gym tomorrow morning and we will work on it together. I struggle to envision a similar scenario ever unfolding when J.R was a Knick.

Mozgov has been incredible. He has great touch around the rim and on his jump shot. He's also a lot more athletic than I realized. At the time, I thought two future first round picks was insanity for Mozgov, but I think he's proved all of his doubters wrong so far. The Varejao extension may come back to bite the Cavs in the ass if they are to lose Mozgov because of it.

Hes been a one man wrecking crew, especially since GS decided to go small (although Iguodala is working out better locking down lebron). I think he got 3 offensive rebounds in one play last night. Hes great at creating chaos down low and routinely punches the ball out to the perimeter to keep play alive. Hes a force.

He showed glimpses last year on a terrible Nuggets team. He was one rebound shy of pulling down 30, and scored 93 pts in the same game. Guy is a stud.
