I'm just gonna throw this out there...

What difference does it make? Assume everyone is going to enter the portal to find out what’s out there. It’s easier that way and more realistic.

The days of looking towards continued growth are over. It’s a year to year sport and you need to rebid every year for your players.

And it’s only been a week. He played on Game 1, missed Game 2 last Wednesday.

Call me a conspiracy nut, or just a plain nut; but this is in reference to Coleman. I find having the flu for about 2 weeks for such a young man is somewhat curious to me.
He played Mar 23 and then missed the game the game Mar 27. 6 days later he is missing the next game. That is not having the flu about 2 weeks.

Plus, I ask again, why would he sit out after playing possibly his best game of the year against North Texas?

This is much ado over nothing.

Beyond that, who cares? He goes, we find someone else. All these kids are flirting with the portal now, whether we know it or not. At best, they play for the front of the uniform while they are wearing it. Once the season ends, it is no different than free agency in every sport. It sucks, but that's the deal.

Nothing would surprise me in this era of free agency in College Athletics.

I like continuity too. I like seeing our players grow up as they play hoops for SHU.

Lots has been said about the important of having our big three back. But they were back and for a month we stunk. What happened? Maybe continuity finally kicked in. But if I had to guess, the RU debacle followed by that awful Monmouth game woke everyone up and made them realize doing what they have been doing will lead to a long and unsuccessful season, so maybe following the coaches orders will give us better results.

Very successful team had massive overhauls this year and succeeded. It can happen faster now cause a lot of the players we are getting have college experience, not HS .

It’s a fair point and I certainly don’t have any data to back up what I’m saying. There are plenty of programs that have done fine cycling in full rosters, and others that have sucked with a returning core (Nova for instance).

That said, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that UCONN, Marquette and Creighton were (1) best in the conference and (2) led by returning players. Conversely, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that teams with overhaul rosters like Kansas and St. Johns underachieved relative to their talent levels.
